No I don’t use Reddit too much, occasionally for an obscure question or inquiry. Seems like every “hardcore” or avid user of Reddit are certified nut jobs that believe some of the most ridiculous false information available. Board has clearly stated rules and known punishments for breaking said rules --> User goes and breaks said rules --> User suffers consequences including predefined punishment which includes banning
I don't know what's so hard about this to understand. There's plenty of people I don't like on here, but that doesn't mean I want them to get banned. But when someone is repeatedly breaking the rules, there should be some sort of punishment for that, just like exists in all facets of society. It's funny how you never hear this discussion when so-called "trolls" get the boot which happens all the time, and yet people tattle on them all the time. The off-topic board that was on this site for awhile which allowed politics was one of the ugliest forums I've ever seen online, and that's certainly saying something. I'm glad they finally got rid of that crap, and I certainly don't want that kind of crap to spread on to the Husker Board. Again, sklarbodds is one of the most lenient mods I've ever come across. If you land in his crosshairs, you were almost certainly breaking board rules, repeatedly. There's no need to whine or get pissy about it. And this board isn't that serious, just take the punishment like a man.

The only time I have gone to another teams site is to ask about bar/tailgate stuff if me and my friends are planning to go there for a game.
I've been warned and apparently was a little too close to or over the line a time or two. I'm sure he was given fair warning. The problem is the mods want to let there be a reasonable discussion but the line is a little arbitrary. Frankly it's damned tough to completely leave political things out of discussing sports right now and what seems to me to be a legitimate discussion of current events in our sports world I've been reported and hence warned about. I wouldn't want the moderator's job.

There have been multiple threads that have gotten axed and when I’ve gotten warned I’ve politely explained my view on why I didn’t believe my posts were political OR I’ve apologized for crossing the imaginary line. I understand your feelings but none of us have a “right” to post on here so I try to not get my boxers in a bunch when I’ve been excommunicated. If I remember correctly I’ve had 2 vacations n the past. I don’t know who the snitch has been but it’s possible they personal beef with you. If they whine enough we get whacked.

Why the need to bench guys when it can be handled much more fairly.

I've seen MANY times when guys should have either been warned on religious/political content and nothing happens to them. Agreed. HBK, you and I have been on the boards for about the same length of time. I was put in time-out once in 22 years but I deserved it. I post OT subjects in the off season and will enagage in some BS stuff but not much.
But over the same period, there are several (certain) users that can push the envelope and never seem to get popped. Their M.O. is the same.
There have been leftists who have been given vacations with repeated violations. The mods to a large degree depend on reports from snitches. They don’t read every post so things can get down the line a long ways before they find out. Again, I understand the criteria seems somewhat arbitrary but the mods are human. I’m sure that they make some decisions influenced by their perception of hostility to themselves and other posters.
I appreciate that somebody is out there putting the brakes on this runaway train even if I don’t always like their decisions. I try to extend grace to them and left wingers. The times I’ve been banned I know why I was banned and I don’t dwell on my perception of how fair it was.
