"We need to thank our seniors for everything that they have done for us, and basically setting a foundation for what this team has to be,”

Is that setting a foundation for what they NEED TO BE (soft and uninspired) or WHAT THEY DONT NEED TO BE (tough and unspired).

To me, if Nebraska keeps this up, it will be a rough few years. Hopefully this 2016 and 2017 class can bring some great hard nose leaders that wont let this mentality continue. Also, hopefully Riley can fire up the players and maybe find something more inspiring than "hip hip horray" after a big win. He needs some more fire (not as much as Pelini) but nore than what he has.

There was no doubt some great contributions from most of our seniors. Sure there were a couple of guys that let their teammates down, but regardless of their talent level we would have been screwed without the work and effort of our senior walkons. We would probably have been playing true freshmen in the O line and D line without those guys and while we didn't win as many as we would have liked, we had some kids give everything they had and set a great example for the underclassmen and we danged well better appreciate that.

What exactly is that pattern? Please enlighten me.

Use the search feature and see for yourself. To make it easy his message is " Riley is an awful coach and will soon be gone, in a nutshell. "

I noticed Clemson and OSU both had a freshman starter on the OLine and they were playing for all the marbles. I'm not bagging on your post that we owe a lot to the senior walk ons, we do, but I never understood the philosophy that underclassmen can't play and do well in an offensive line.

Why should I use the search feature when you are the one trying to call me out for something? So please give me your knowledge seems how you study my posts.

So come back in 2 years and tell everyone how smart you are. Run along till then.

I am for Riley and do not want him fired. But if you think this same mentality of playing uninspired football is going to last here in Lincoln you are f'ing crazy. So I think I will stay right here and you can run away until then. Ive been supportive of Riley.

Do you not see that rrt and myself are directly talking to blackhusker, not you. That's why we respond to his posts.

I also apologize HBK. On your one reply about coming back in 2 years i didnt read your quoted part and knew I had also posted that it would be a rough few years if this mentality continues.
Im going to sleep now. No more staying up after I get off work lol.

The original post is a good post. I personally think Riley is not a very good coach. We did not look prepared to play those last few games and we looked lost in that bowl game. Why did we forget how to tackle? Why do we not wrap up when tackling? Who is teaching these players how to tackle in practice?

I understand your points but nobody should have to teach a college football player how to tackle. We were however, mentally absent in our last two games, especially on defense.

All anybody has to do is watch some old youtube videos of Nebraska back in the 80's and 90's and see how good they were at tackling. Or just watch Alabama most anytime this year.

And not only was there poor tackling the last two games, the out of position and terrible angles crap needs to get fixed in the worst way as well. We'll see improvement if Nebraska, in games where they are underdogs, keeps from getting crushed by improving in all the fundamentals. And an upset of one of those favored teams will help as well.

What he is doing is taking the high road. Saying what he actually feels about them only adds to the toxic dump that was created. What else is he supposed to say they were soft and uninspired and played like pussies?

Exactly. This is what you do, thank the seniors for all their hard work on the way out. Anything less is completely classless.
