We will have a new center & a true frosh right tackle playing sat. How do we help these guys out so
we don't get our QB killed, get them in the flow of the game to build some confidence.
One thing I would like to see is getting in some power run formations, McNitt leading Wilbon/Obzigbo with lead blocks. If we have success with this it will get the crowd in the game
& it will get the team some much needed mojo. Let the big hogs bust some chops & prove we are
a physical, tough team.
If we do have some success it gives play action a chance to work, Lee needs some easy throws
to get in a rhythm & not get hit. On third down I would like to see more shuttle passes to take advantage of the DEs playing so wide outside our tackles. Our draw play worked pretty good last
week, do not think we threw one screen pass?
I would like to see McNitt at Hback on 3rd down to chip the DE to slow down the rush, he is probably stronger & much tougher than the patty cake TE Hoppes. A really good shot to some ribs or a good ear hole shot on a chip will slow down the rush.
If Rutgers plays a lot of press coverage I would like to see some rub plays to take advantage of aggressive coverage & more double moves if they r jumping routes like last week.
One last thing, I would like to see Diaco on the sideline, especially this week. We need to see some energy on the sidelines for a change. Riley calling plays is over due, the guy needs to get involved & act like he is coaching for his job!
