Sorry for not giving up to the minute posts. I was able to attend from Tues. thru Sat. I was not on the scrolls all week, #1 because they ask we not post about what they are doing, #2 I was having a lot of fun just hanging out with a bunch of the guys and getting the feel of what the players think.
I don't want to boar all with a long post, but will be more than happy to answer any questions and give MY opinion on what I saw. I will be giving position specific observations as I have time.
Qaurterbacks_-----_____ We are loaded with potential. Mr. Lee is definitely the starter, but we have more than capable backup. POB to me is the clear leader for the number 2. Not because he is that much better than Mr. Gebbia, it is strictly from a strength standpoint.
Mr. Lee steps up into the pocket, YES I KNOW, and there is a pocket this year, and throws very balanced and with good arm strength and really good touch on the ball. Sorry Big Red fans, This will take some getting used to, as I know we are not used to seeing this. We will be in for a treat this year as we will see something Lincoln has not seen in a long while. I am not in anyway knocking old quarterbacks that have played for the huskers. Mr. Lee just has tools fans have not seen from that position in a long time.
POB to me is the clear next man up. While not as polished as Mr. Lee, Patrick has all the arm strength that one could ask of a quarterback. He will do well, one day. His decision making, and touch are just not quite as good as Mr. Lee. This is not a knock, it is something that age and maturity show at this point in every young men's life.
Mr. Gebbia has all the athleticism and arm that one can ask of a quarterback. For his age, the maturity level is second to none. The only thing I see when I watch him is his throws. Although he has a strong arm, with really good touch and great decision making, his arm strength is not there yet. Where the other two quarterbacks make a throw with their arms, Mr. Gebbia must really step into his throws more, so needs more room in a pocket. He will really benefit with a year or two of getting stronger. Once again. Not a knock on him at all. He has tremendous potential, and a outstanding work ethic.
More thought's to come later.
