I think Nebraska is the only BIG school that refers to itself as University of ——— at ——-.
I think all the other Universities just say University of Michigan or Penn State or Wisconsin and everyone seems to realize they mean Ann Arbor, State College or Madison. They leave the University of Michigan at Flint etc. to their satellite campuses. Nebraska, on the other hand, does UNL, UNK and UNO. I know that the California system does this with University of California, Los Angeles, Berkeley etc., but these schools have evolved into their own identity — UCLA or CAL. Maybe UNK will someday emerge as just Kearney and it will be a huge rivalry. It’ll be known as the I-80 Fued. Or the Bugs Eat Each Other. Too bad Keith Nackson has left the scene.
