Struggled at home to a team that lost 14 conference games in a row prior to today. The concrete for the new foundation has been poured.

PS - We won't win another game this year

glad we got wisconson and ohio state at home, if we could win one of them it would make up for niu. and put us where I figured we would be with a first year qb.

but illinose first

If NU loses to Illinois, MR should stop at Home Depot and get some boxes to pack up his office with. Illinois might be the worst team in the state of Illinois. NU will not lose that game. The rest of the season could get ugly after that.

They played NU incredibly tough last year and led through 3 quarters. I think it's a close loss. It's definitely all downhill from there either way.

If the D is in fact getting better (rather than just looking better against inept offenses) and we can develop (and utilize) a run game, we have a decent chance of winning every game but two. But it is vital that our o coordinator understand that Lee can be as much a liability as an asset, and proceed accordingly. This is all conditioned upon our D being good to very good.

It's reality. OSU and PSU are only guaranteed losses. IL sucks. NW and MN? Yawn. Wisc and Iowa are beatable. As I said, if our D is legit, and we have a good run game, that is utilized, we can end up with 4 losses.

I agree on Illinois. Should be a win. And I agree, NW and MN are not exactly teams that should be feared. Unfortunately, we are at that level.

Iowa and Wisconsin? No way.

we aren't, at all, that doesn't mean we can't get 8. Not great, but not terrible, and it would be fantastic to beat Wiscy and Iowa. A long shot, but doable if our d is stout and we can run the ball

Watch the second half of Nebraska/Rutgers and then immediately watch the second half of Iowa/Penn State. I think you'll see the difference in the quality of play and be shocked by it.

I don't think this a Callahan situation, where the players have just given up on the staff. I think we finish the season at 7-5, if Langsdork doesn't get to pass happy and Cavs can put down the Big Mac and teach this kids how to block correctly. Currently Lee is not the savior that everyone made him out to be, but he is average game manager with a strong, but inaccurate at times arm.

That game makes my point. Iowa was a few seconds away from winning a game they had no business winning. Solid D and a few timely big plays was almost enough. Huskers can win all of these games, except OSU and PSU, if their D is legit, we have a decent run game, and we stop acting like Lee is somebody he isn't.

Iowa gave up 30 first downs and 580 yards and you have a boner over their play last night. Interesting....we'll see what you say about Nebraska if Penn St puts up those same numbers against them.
