We were told this staff cannot manage the game...

In fact one sportswriter last spring said Riley would not have received the pressure from the Oregon State fan base and would still be in Corvallis if he would have just managed the games well. He has now given two games away because of his piss poor game management.
This had to be one of the most bewildering hires in Nebraska history. This is a guy who has been at best an average to below average coach his entire career. We were warned over and over about it and still people were for whatever reasons thought he would come here and magically change to a super star coach who could win championship after championship. Sorry people Nebraska is not a magically school most school and football programs around the country are equal to Nebraska. There is nothing special here. We can't turn average to amazing it just wont happen. Nebraska needs to figure out really fast what the plan is with Riley or expect another 3-5 years of Oregon St and starting over again

Those #s are a joke. Take into consideration a couple of the highest recruits never showed up on campus and many of the four stars are gone. Take the guys that actually play on this roster and go recalculate the class and post. It won't be pretty.

The recruiting rankings are right more often than they are wrong. Perhaps you have player development issues...

EVERY team has attrition--it doesn't just happen at Nebraska. Every team has injuriess--it doesn't just happen at Nebraska. Nebraska has far more talent than Illinois--and it isn't even close. Nebraska coached and played poorly and lost a game because of it...to say you lost because you were not as talented as Illinois is rediculous.

Nothing to do with development. Again, a large # of Pelini's highest rated players from those classes are either gone or never showed up in the first place. If you take the actual roster and recalculated the classes Nebraskas would be pretty sad.

@Tulsa Tom You seem to have a hard time understanding what I'm asking, or you are refusing to answer my question on purpose.
Based upon your experience, knowledge, and insight, when watching the game last Saturday, which position groups did we hold a "not even close" talent advantage over them? In that game, on the field, who specifically on the Huskers looked like they had "far better" and "not even close" more talent than their same position group on the other sideline. Hell, I even gave you one already, the D-line. I'm just asking you to give me more. It shouldn't be that hard, if the disparity is that great.
That's dumb to find our worst game and say that. I watched the Mich St. and Purdue game. You tell me the same thing about those two squads because in that one game they looked pretty similar. However, it would be a joke to say that Purdue has the same talent as Mich. State.

Says literally nobody but you.
Let's see...the guys on BTN said it. Sam at the OWH said it. Our very own AD who gets paid a million plus dollars and ought to know a bit about how talented our team is said it. Just look down below at my sig.

Media hype and AD speak. You're an idiot.

We were also told, by @Tulsa Tom, that Nebraska would go on a win streak after the Southern Miss game.
I was wrong. I didn't think Langsdorf would screw up that badly. He had a few nice games before this. I figured once he saw we could run the ball he might...well...actually run the ball.

BTN guys have been saying it since we joined the B1G. I've said this multiple times, talent is only one aspect of the discussion.

Sam? McKewon? RollingLaugh

You may want to read your sig a little closer.

Remember Clinkscale, the can't miss 4/5 star JUCO defensive tackle? He's now at Eastern Kentucky.

Before the Illinois game, I thought there was a slight (very slight) chance we could lose. Could our talent overcome our coaching incompetency? With 55 seconds left, I knew the game was over. It was just a matter (a painful matter) of watching it play out.
Exactly this. Not only did we fans know it was over but so did every player on both sidelines I suspect. I think they all with :52 remaining knew the NU staff had snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, all that was left was the deed. After 3 choke jobs, unique but maybe not separate, I start to wonder if they are just losers (not personally mind you) in that they tighten up and are pre-disposed to losing at the end instead of winning. That seemed to be their MO at Corvallis and it is hard to make your players winners if you don't know how.

They are average coaches, the numbers don't lie.

On the other hand, they may be as good a staff at getting a late lead as there is. But it's kind of like Jerry at the rental car counter:

"I know you know how to take the lead, you just don't understand how to hold the lead. And that's really he most important part of the lead.....the holding"
