If you listen to MR he has plans to assist him in his coaching career. I think this pick up helps the QB with needed experience to help the young QBs mature and will lead to a coaching job down the road.
His freshman year he played safety at NW... He might get a look at safety as well.

Too bad we didn’t snag him last year. It is amazing we won any games at all since we did not have a legit QB on our roster. As someone else in this thread pointed out, we probably would have gone to a bowl game had he been on our roster.

This is how you get into college coaching. For the most part, gone are the days of being a HS coach and working your way up to the college ranks. You need that "in" and what he is doing is exactly how you do it.
I agree, I just take every opportunity to post “iowa inbreds”. It’s a clean, thriving small town with good healthcare facilities, due to those facts it looks more like a small Minnesota town than an iowa town.
