No, considering they still lose games in the exact same way they were losing under Frost, and getting blown out by Indiana 56-7 makes this year kind of a dud.
15 extra practices for the young guys is a success. Build on it and come back better next year.

Bowl game and the extra practices means progress. During the Wisconsin game, they showed a stat that Wisconsin had 105 more practices than Nebraska during the bowl drought. The same is true for Iowa, Minnesota, and of course the dominant programs in the conference. It’s fair to suggest that all of the extra practices Iowa players have had the past seasons results in fewer catastrophic errors in their games against Nebraska.
Firing the OC mid-season also represents progress.

Progress - but a successful season would be winning the Iowa and Illinois games. Winning 8-9 would have been such a huge momentum season to get the program on track.
Back behind the 8 ball now, Rhule is going to have to grind.

I'd still throw Wisconsin in there for key wins even though they were bad. But we were a part of crushing their bowl streak, and we should relish in that fact regardless of how goofy that Iowa game outcome was.
Thinking more about the bowl practices…if you’re a 4th or 5th year player, you’ve had almost full season of extra practice compared to Nebraska players of the same age. I’m not a football coach but I gotta think that contributes to some of the gaffes in fundamentals we see time and time again.
Would Ohio State beating Michigan 6-5 because they've lost 3 in a row be a key win?
