Warren is out

Fingers crossed they hire a minority so 80% of the posters on here die of heart attacks

Warren was a Grade A dickhead, his skin color has zero to do with why so many people think he's a dickhead.

Sounds like Trev is a big fan and very appreciative for all he has done. In marked contrast to many of the opinions expressed in this thread

I applaud Trev for that statement. I would have dun the same..that's what professional adults do...but Warren is still a dickhead.

That's why I was surprised that Ben Sasse just got hired as President of University of Florida. Being a Democrat is the usually the main qualification required to work in higher education administration these days.
Sasse wasn’t exactly mister conservative. But I was shocked as well that Florida hired a Republican as well, even if he’s a rino.

No one gave two $&it’s about he was black, it’s how he handled the Covid year with not playing anyone else outside the conference in Football, Basketball, Baseball and Softball..

Changing schedules right and left ext ext..
Well his proclamation to a group of college students that they were going to change the country with that COVID election didn’t sit well with me. Had nothing to do with his skin color. He was an activist BLM booster and an insider to the Chicago organized political crime family. 😡

Ben’s a RINO. Faker.
Warren’s a political hack who shouldn’t be in charge of a fast food restaurant…

All the more reason for him to sit behind the desk of a beloved chicago asset

As for his (or any) NFL CEO running the business - I can’t think of a single entity that’s more self-sufficient than an NFL franchise

There’s a reason you cannot name 1 nfl CEO who’s not an owner. Most teams don’t even have one

Like I said, he’ll be a figurehead “in charge” of a 100 year old lady’s family nest egg. Nothing more, nothing less.

And we will hopefully never hear another word from him

I read somewhere recently that warren was very aggressive with westward expansion over the concerns of the existing uni power players.

While trev and warren probably have their differences, if that is true, warrens lasting impact on the big ten is probably a plus in trev’s eyes.

My personal opinion is that the addition of UCLA and USC makes no sense for the rest of the league. It was a panic set in motion by OU and Texas.

You maybe right but the conference has been waiting for ND forever thinking this would push them into a conference..

I just hope this conference doesn’t get any more schools in it.

It makes sense financially because of the tv deals and the west coast market, but for everyone else its a PITA to travel to the west coast. Especially for teams on the east coast, imagine maryland, rutgers, penn state, etc.

They probably should have taken Washington, Oregon and Stanford.

If it brings in more money I’m good with it

But in the end that won’t likely increase the take by individual schools when you figure in the travel expense. That’s completely forgetting about the toll on the players in flying all the way out there and back. At least the SEC makes some geographical sense.

I'm kinda neutral on warren...I have to see the end product and how the games will be organized..
hopefully no more ohio state 8 times, Indiana 2 times stuff...expecially with questionable hc's

I think it makes sense from a stability and leverage angle. For a die hard few like kong, there basically is no football except SEC football. If we’ve just determined that for cultural or demographic reasons SEC football will always have the top four teams at the collegiate level, one of the easiest ways to counterbalance that is just sheer scope.

Fortunately for us, CFB is still a national sport and while the SEC might continue to rule it, it can’t survive in its current form without the rest of the national market. The B1G owns that piece now with the addition of the west coast schools.

Which in general is a good thing for the B1G. If the league intends to evolve further we’d at least have a seat at the table. And while no one school save OSU might be able compete with the SEC every year, having a stable of schools generally assures that any one school would probably be competitive in any given year on a rotating basis.

Maybe having the west coast made the pot smaller per team but I’d rather have a bit smaller pot for another 50 years of football than risking the B1G as a whole be marginalized long term.

I was never a big fan of Warren but Jim Delany was a bigger asshole, in my opinion. At least Warren never insisted on moving the Big Ten Basketball Tournament to NYC in February so it could double as a retirement party for the egomaniac commissioner.

Not sorry to see Warren go, but hard to see anything he didn’t do as well or better than Delany.
