Below is what he said today in regards to the spring game....
Assignment wise, thought they were very thorough. Felt they got their assignments blocked really well and handled. Played to their level of competition a couple of times. There were times guys, there was more effort than needed to be given. Times guys did great. Like a lot of the young guys; really liked how Conrad looked at center, Wilson got a little antsy on some double teams but went a hundred miles an hour. Got off of double teams early but finished (his emphasis) at the second level.
There's a lot of positives to take. The focus has to come in and the attitude has to start to develop.
"Oh yeah" in response to enough talent for an upper echelon OL in the conference and country. (He was really excited on his "oh yeah" response). You have 2, maybe 3, guys that are potential all B1G players; the phase now is attitude and leadership. There's talent across that whole line.
More on players or Cav to figure it out? 80% on players, 20% on Cav. Those guys (players) gotta take ownership. We have a chance to be great, we have talent at both guards and tackles, young guys pushing for playing time. Let's go out and be a bunch of bastards. Phillip (S&C coach) has to get them, need him to get working on the OL. He said Phillip has been spending a lot of time with the defense and you can tell, now he needs to spend more time with the OL.
Physically, he thinks they can play. Attitude is what he wants to see change.

Below is what he said a couple weeks ago after a practice or scrimmage....
Knevel, playing through the whistle, Vrz can tell he's fighting for a spot.
Farmer, laser focus, can tell he's locked in and feels pressure behind it.
Vrz couldn't say the same about the other 3 guys (LT, LG, C). He sure made it seem like Gates, Foster & Decker are dogging it while Raridon & Wilson have an attitude we haven't had in Lincoln for awhile.
