Who are the most valuable players through two undistinguished outings by the Huskers?
I think Tre Bryant has to be the MVP on offense. After that it's kind of a jump ball as guys like Stan, Tanner and others haven't been as steady as you'd like. The OL fits that description too.
Defensively, there's not much doubt that Luke Gifford is absolutely the man and Deontre Thomas as a highly unexpected contributor might be next in line? Other guys have shown flashes, but no one else has stood out to me.
Special teams I'd say Caleb Lightbourn has done well, which is great to see after last season and you can't forget Spielman's kickoff return in week one.
Biggest disappointments for me are hard to say because I don't want to run anybody down. That said, offensively you've gotta feel like Tanner Lee let some things get away on Saturday, but in fairness, he had a lot of pressure and not much WR separation on some routes.
Defensively there's plenty of blame to go around, but Jackson seems to get beat consistently and hasn't made plays like I'd hoped in his second year. I hope everyone steps up this week and takes their game to the next level. We need some momentum and confidence heading into each game as we're not good enough to look beyond who's in front of us every week.
