Nebraska held private one-hour workouts with over 20 prospects on Friday as they gear up for tonight's Friday Night Lights Camp. Below in this thread, we will have updates from each prospect we interview following their private workout.

Luke Vonderhaar
Nebraska had two offensive linemen from Pleasant Valley (Iowa) high school complete a one-hour private workout for this staff. Luke Vonderhaar, similar to his teammate Aidan Kilstrom, felt that he impressed coach Greg Austin and head coach Scott Frost.
In fact, Vonderhaar said Frost told him Nebraska was “super close to pulling the trigger” on his offer”.
Like many recruits from Friday’s workouts, Vonderhaar didn’t receive his testing results but he said he felt good about his performance and the feedback he received from Austin on his hand placement and more.
He said that he connected well with Austin and the staff.
“I talked to Coach Frost. I thought he was a super cool guy, no BS kind of guy and just gave it to me straight, which I love.” the 6-4, 248-pound athlete said. “Coach Austin was super cool, too. He's obviously really smart and knows the game really well.”
Vonderhaar, who qualified for state wrestling, was also blown away by Memorial Stadium and Nebraska’s facilities.
“The stadium is insane,” he said. “I mean, we went out on the field and just like looking up at the stands hurts your neck almost. I was super impressed. And all the facilities were awesome. It looks like they just broke ground on starting a new facility, which is unreal.”
Up next, Vonderhaar will be attending at camp at Iowa after doing the same at Iowa State on June 1. He will also take an unofficial visit to Airforce and attend their camp. Camps at Army and UNI are also on Vonderhaar’s schedule for the summer.
He doesn’t have any official plans but said he would “love” to came back to see Memorial Stadium filled on a game day.

Fremont Bergen athlete Koa McIntyre was put through his paces at several positions by the Husker staff Friday during his individual workout.
"I did really will today, actually. We kind of started out and did the forties, and I ran a 4.43. Then we did the pro agility, but I don't know what I got for my time. I'm pretty sure my vertical was like around a 32 or 31. Then we went straight after that to our workouts, so I did three positions: wide receiver, DB and running back today."
McIntyre said he spent the most time working out as a safety. He measured in at 6-foot, 202-pounds.
"Yeah, they kind of limited it down and think I did really well as a safety here. They were testing me on moving my hips side to side and we did some 'W' drills. We also did some reaction stuff like breaking on outs. I thought I did really well. That's what they told me. They told me my hips moved pretty well for how big I am right now, and that I am pretty fast."
McIntyre was not offered by the Husker coaches after his workout, but they will be discussing his situation when defensive backs coach Travis Fisher returns to campus.
"I actually talked to Scott Frost today. We sat down and he was just very honest with me. He said that he really likes me and wants me here, but he needs to get with the actual DBs coach, Coach Fish, because he wasn't here today. He was in Tennessee for his daughter's graduation, so when he comes back I'm going to do another camp with him so he can see me in person. Then I think we can go on from there and talk about an offer."
McIntyre got to tour Nebraska's facilities along with the rest of the camp participants.
"I love it down here, you know? I just been around it my whole life and, I don't know, it's just a part of me."
This was McIntyre's first camp this year. Next on tap for him will be a junior day at North Dakota State, followed by camps at Iowa State, Kansas State and Wyoming.

Aurora, Nebraska linebacker prospect Mack Owens was one of the invitees to do a personal workout in front of the Cornhusker coaches Friday. He founded to be a productive day in his recruiting process.
"It went really well! I loved talking with and getting to know Barrett Ruud, their linebackers coach there. We worked on a ton of outside linebacker drills and stuff. I feel like the evaluation went pretty well.
"It was fun not to just be my myself because I was alone when I went to Wyoming. Being around all the guys who were there, too, was nice because I got to make friends and I am a pretty social person. It was more like a team atmosphere with everyone getting to know each other."
Owens said he was worked out specifically at the outside linebacker position.
"There was a lot of different agility drills and coverage drills. Like, dropping back at a 45° angle, and then shuffling stuff. Shuffling left and right, and then you would have to catch a ball after the drill.
"I ran a 4.70-flat in the forty, a 4.34 for my shuttle, but by vertical wasn't as good as it was at Wyoming. I had a 29 today, but I did a 34.5 at Wyoming. I weighed in at 204.2 [pounds] and 72.6 inches [6-foot] in my height."
Owens received a lot of positive feedback from the Husker coaches.
"They said they were impressed. They gave me some little things to work on like coming out of my brakes, but other than that, they said overall that I did really good and that they would stay in contact with me. So, that was nice to hear."
He also got to tour NU's facilities while he was on campus.
"I liked it a lot! I mean, obviously, Nebraska has some of the best facilities in the nation, so there was a lot to enjoy about it. We also got to meet with like their staff psychologist. They were really nice and they had us do some testing there. Basically, it was about testing player development and how a player learns. Then they give the feedback to the coaches. Not many schools, I don't think, do something like that."
Owens already has an Idaho State offer, and he will be getting some other camps in the coming weeks.
"Next I will be going to NIU, and then for the next two days after that I will go down to Vanderbilt.”

Coeur d’Alene (Idaho) outside linebacker Cameren Cope led the state of Idaho with 12.5 sacks in seven games in 2020. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Cope lives just 90 miles from the Canadian border and was excited to get the chance to workout at Nebraska.
“This was my first camp or workout I did,” Cope said. “Being a Big Ten school, that was the No. 1 thing that brought me here. Nebraska is a great football program and I wanted to learn more about them.”
Cope jumped a 31-inch vertical on Friday but said he’s usually closer to 35 inches when he’s tested back home. He measured a 79.5-inch wingspan as well. He was not told his 40-yard dash time.

“After my workout, I talked to Scott Frost and he wanted to meet up with us after the camp and talk more,” Cope said. “We didn’t get a chance to meet, but I was pretty confident with how I did. I got along with the coaches well too and I think I showed enough to possibly get an offer.”
When I talked to Cope, he was already back at the airport getting ready to fly back home. Later this summer he will camp at a satellite camp at Division III Whitworth (June 12), Boise State (June 14) and both Montana and Montana State (June 25-26).

Quarterback prospect Ryan Browne said he impressed head coach Scott Frost and quarterback coach Mario Verduzco during his private workout with the pair. Browne said he feels confident that he’ll receive an offer from Nebraska, which would be his first.
“I felt like they were really impressed and surprised with how I did,” said Browne who is from Venice, Florida. “I made a couple of throws and I noticed that he went from watching me to starting to coach me up a little bit about a few things. And I think that just showed that he was interested in me.”
Browne said he was measured at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds. The 2022 quarterback didn’t receive his test results but said he usually tests 4-seconds flat in the shuttle, 4.6-4.7 seconds in the 40-yard dash and his vertical is typically 29 inches.
Players also get a tour of Nebraska’s facilities and Browne was liked what he saw.
“My favorite part was the stadium and the player’s lounge,” he said. “Nebraska, they just treat the players very well and it looks like a family.”
Browne also had private workouts at the University of Florida and the University of Miami. The quarterback said if Florida’s 2022 quarterback commit were to decommit or another QB spot were to open up, Browne would be their next guy in.
June is a busy month for Browne. He is attending a camp at Michigan State on Sunday and will have a private workout at Michigan on Sunday night while he’s in the state. Clemson and Auburn have also reached out to Browne about attending their camps.
Browne enjoyed Nebraska’s campus and the city of Lincoln.
“It fits my personality really well,” he said. “It's lowkey, it's really relaxing and the campus is beautiful.”
If the Huskers are interested, the quarterback said he would love to return to Nebraska for another visit.
“As long as they’re interested, I’m interested,” Browne said.
