Uh oh Syracuse

Perhaps Nebraska is fated to be the only power 5 conference team to have never won an NCAA tournament game? It would make sense to anyone whose been following the team since the 1970s.

The 50% or so of our fan base still backing Miles will surely be thrilled if he can somehow steal another 5 or 6 wins next year to make the NIT. Yet here were are laughing at Cuse and The Third.

I live in Nashville and attend Vandy games often. Has nothing to do with Northwestern. Just want to see Vandy do well.

I've heard that arena is very cool. Didn't they design it like a theater? I feel like I heard that somewhere.

Revenge would be finding a graduate transfer guard who can take some of the ball-handling burden off Watson next season and help the Huskers have a reason to watch the selection show for the first time in several years.

The Selection Show was a lot more fun to watch...you know...When NU had a chance to be selected.

If they hadn't changed conferences I'd care more because they are one of the last remaining links to the golden days of college basketball. But they did, so the nostalgic value is not there for me.

We need someone who can shoot the 3 ball at 40%+ that will solve a bunch of problems

Every team we played shot that against us. But that's just our bad luck, has nothing to do with scheme.

What did you think of the Shockers seed?
Piece of crapola.....I have read at least seven national articles/blogs that are incensed/bewildered/stunned...It's funny, I REALLY don't get as fired up for them as I do my woebegoneforever Huskers, but I was pretty bent at the whole process last night...

Who has Wichita St beat? People are outraged because they won 30 games and were ranked.

They were 2-4 against top 50 teams and the team they beat (Illinois St) didn't even make the tournament.

If Illinois St wins the MVC tournament they would have been an 11 or 12 seed with a similar resume.

I'm assuming you watch SOME basketball and understand the concept of gelling as a team. The Shockers lost two guards to the NBA, both of whom play with some frequency. In the early part of their season where they have a chance to play P5 comp, they were finding themselves, and did not capitalize against Michigan State (a 9...5 point loss), Louisville(a 2......10 point loss) or Okie State, which is arguably their worst loss. Their league stinks, which helps them none. I saw the Huskers probably 15 times(all on tv, not the best test) and saw them beat Maryland( a 6), Indiana at Indiana (at the time a good win) and Purdue( a 4). I BLEED Nebraska, but if you put those two teams in a gym together, it would be a rear end kicking of epic proportions.
BTW....find me those quotes of people who were 'outraged ' that they were ranked with 30 wins. I'd like to see them.
And the Illinois State thing? I'm not a fan of them, but wow.

You misunderstand. They were outraged that Wichita St was only a 10 seed because they had won 30 games and were ranked. The believe they should be higher.

No offense but I don't care who they lost from last year, everyone loses players every year. They had 3 games against teams in the tournament and lost all three. If that was anyone else in the Valley they would have been an 11 or higher, just like MTSU.

My bad...and I understand that everyone loses players...but not everyone loses the BEST players in a generation, and really has to be great out of the box or be penalized for it.

No harm, no foul.

Teams don't get bonus points because they lost 'once-in-a-generation' players. They are evaluated on how they did in the current season. They beat nobody. They are where they belong. This is where a bracket-buster type of game might have been able to help them. Maybe Greggggggggggggg should give thought to playing a decent non-conference in the latter half of the season since the MoValley is so weak.

Have no interest. It's like like watching one of the awards shows. It has no bearing on the outcome. I just read about it afterwards to see the winners.

This is what I do. It was such a painful watch even at one hour. Expanding the telecast further made it a deal-breaker for me.

well, your dislike for Greg is noted, but IF you really knew basketball, your statement about a 'decent nonconference in the latter half' is laughable...no one else does that either, with the exception of the BIG 12/SEC challenge. And I'll just assume you really have not seen them play this year. Your option, of course. AND they may lose to Dayton, at which point you'd be happy as a clam.

I don't hate them, but I have watched them play. They still haven't beat anybody. Sorry. I know you live in Wichita and are connected with the Wichita St peeps who see things with Wichita St colored lenses, etc. But there is no reason for Wichita St to have expected a higher seed.

I don't have an answer for you on the schedule thing. Maybe join a tougher conference? Just trying to brainstorm for you. I liked the bracket busters, but they quickly fell out of favor and are no more. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where you are seeded, you just gotta win.
