A guy at work talked about the upcoming UFL season. Said tix were pretty cheap (I live in Arlington). I told him I didn't care if they were free. I wouldn't be wasting my time watching one minute of that.

I like to watch some of it on TV but probably wouldn’t buy a ticket. It’s kind of interesting to watch some guys you saw in college in a different setting. It’s sort of like watching the spring scrimmage at a much higher talent level.

They need to get on their knees and thank God that there's a league that is giving them a chance to get to or back to the NFL.
Agreed that they have been given a great opportunity just to have a chance to get to the NFL. And not have to get into another line of work. That said the ownership and the executive committee of the league are certainly pushing that advantage that they have. If it was a different man in charge, I wonder how many people would still be defending the actions that are being taken by the league.

Its a bad product because all the teams run the same offense. Ok there are minute differences but its the same old shit. 95% shotgun, 80% Inside outside zone, some duo if youre lucky, maybe a fake jet counter or two and 40 passes a game. They all mimic offenses that had very good QB play. The problem is the QB play they have sucks ass and it makes for a terrible product to watch. The defense can sit in 2 high with a nickle and still stop the offense because they are all finesse and the qb play is terrible.

Get under center and put your qb’s back to the defense ffs. If not go full qb power and option.

Yes im too angry about this.

Therein lies one of the problems. It's a made for TV league, but who in the hell wants to give up an entire day to go to a game and pay for the privilege to do it? The spring league needs to cut expenses- play in small stadiums, cut down on travel somehow.

The NFL needs a developmental league. At the least, NFL teams should be loaning out there developmental QBs so that those guys can get more experience. The league has 32 teams and probably 25 decent starting QBs and about 10 quality backup level guys.

You hit the nail on the head. Half of the NFL QBs aren't NFL level and when you take those guys out of the mix, who is left to play in the spring? And the offenses are so unsophisticated- nobody throws the ball downfield and OC's are terrified to pass across the middle.

Side note: For Dylan Raiola, playing in an offense where he takes some center snaps and actually turns his back to the defense gives him a pretty big advantage over other prospects. Some of these QBs haven't even done it. Hell, Justin Fields can't even take a snap under center yet and he's been in the league four years.
