Tx - ASU

If I remember this was literally the last play of the game. One could argue they could overturn the victory of Texas due to them not being able to run another play??

that was in the first half. Still could have affected the outcome and should have counted. They were a really bad crew. There were so many examples of missed/bad calls on both sides. Too many to count.

That crew is considered awful even by Big Ten standards, which is saying a lot. They should not have been allowed within 100 miles of a CFP game.

This took place at the end of the 2nd quarter

Better question is how the safety could let Golden get behind him. He was UT’s go-to guy all day.
Golden faked the corner route, then went to the post. The inside receiver, ran up the field and took the safeties eyes away from Golden, then ended up running an out. The CB bit hard on the corner and had his hips turned and everything, the safety was still looking for the inside receiver to come on a post and was late getting back when he went to the out. Nice play design coupled with poor eye discipline by the safety.

I'm a texas fan but pretty objective as you know. The targeting no call should have been called but what no one is talking about is the even more egregious non call on asu when they tried to take bond's head off. I hate the targeting penalty but if they are going to call it they need to be consistent. According to the rule book, leading with a forearm is also targeting.

I thought they were both good no calls tbh, even though they were both technically targeting.

Just an fyi I was watching a sports podcast and the FG was brought up. They said it's an nfl rule and in college it's dead if it hits the ground. I'm too lazy to look it up but that might be why it wasn't called good.
