1. Sorry folks a lot happening amidst the All-American Bowl, swear I posted an update on Houston WR Jonah Wilson this morning but I guess not. Anyways, I can in fact confirm Nebraska is trending to land the 6-foot-3 redshirt freshman wideout. He was one of Daikiel Shorts' biggest recruiting wins at Houston, essentially flipping the former four-star from Texas out of Spring (Tex.) Dekaney. I covered Wilson in high school, he was something of a late-bloomer, exploding with a playoff performance against Cypress (Tex.) Bridgeland as a sophomore, had a productive, but not particularly impressive junior season before exploding for 1,300 yards as a senior. He redshirted his first season at Houston, then the scheme changes under Willie Fritz this past season saw him fall down the WR rotation. Still has plenty of upside, but needs to diversify his route tree and improve physicality relative to his frame. He's a natural field stretcher with good ball skills and bounce, basketball background is obvious watching him.
2. New Mexico State transfer OT Shiyazh Pete visited Nebraska on Wednesday and his now at Stanford. He also visited Kentucky earlier this week and the Wildcats have some confidence. Pete's going through the process and hasn't made a decision. Nebraska is very much in the mix but this isn't an open and shut recruitment. Huskers are making it known he's wanted in Lincoln.
