Would like to have a discussion related to just these two QB's.
Give Turner the 95 defense and he would have had 3 NC's and 2 Heisman trophies. Turner's defense was average at best. Whereas Turner's offense was in my opinion slightly better than Tommie's best offense. Turner over Tommie and it is not close. To many young pups on this site that never even saw Turner play.
Our offense and defense were so good in 94 & 95 that you could put any of these QB's on the 94 & 95 teams and we would have still won the NC's: Jerry Tagge, Van Brownson, Dave Humm, Vince Ferragamo; Scott Frost; Eric Crouch; Brook Berringer; Steve Taylor; Gerry Gdowski; Taylor Martinez; Zac Taylor; and Joe Ganz. Maybe even a few others. Our offense and defense really were that good. Tommie was good, but is overrated in my opinion. The other 23 players really can make a QB look a lot better than they are.
