Trae Day!! 2027 QB N!! Bumped in ratings

If fans wanted Urban Meyer I think fans would put up with nearly any coach, outside of a killer and even then the evidence better be 100% clear, who won them a natty.
It’s not so much what the fans would put up with rather it’s what the B1G allowed him to do to win. There were complaints about his tactics long before the depth of his cheating was fully known and the B1G let things slide until after the season.

no, they didn't

he was suspended for the home stretch of their national title run, including @ penn state and The Game against Ohio St

B1G did all they could to derail that Michigan team

I'm not sure what the BIG would really do. Some minor sanctions sure but the positives would more than offset the negatives.

Don't know who I respect more, Trae or his dad.

Man, I miss running summer camps for and literally stealing money from parents. I mean, helping kids get better. :)

The VB coach at my school makes INCREDIBLE jack over the summer because so many 3rd-8th graders sign up for VB camp. 100 dollars a kid, I think last time I checked they had over 100 kids signed up...for that 5 day camp.

Yes everything is a scam. Coaches stealing left and right. 🙄

I don’t know that keeping half of that is INCREDIBLE - however if a coach can get a little extra bonus for a camp like this good for them. High School coaches are so underpaid given the time they invest in the extra curricular activities.

We keep it all.

You have a few HS students help run the camp and toss them 100 dollars each for the week.

But I agree, most HS coaches are totally underpaid for the actual amount of hours they put in. Football is brutal. Wrestling might be the worst.

Golf, the pay is okay for the amount of actual practice time.

Wrestling worse than football and basketball?

Wrestling tourney's just suck. You leave school at 6 or 7in the morning...you get done at like 5pm...it is always on the weekend.

Seeding meetings the day/night before are so stupid and time consuming for no reason.

Football sucks on Saturday and Sunday...and during the summer. The season, Monday-Friday is awesome.

I have never done track or CC.

Basketball is annoying because the games are always on different days.

These are just my opinions though.

I can tell you that golf and bowling are the crown jewels now.

It is not a scam...the kids are still doing drills. It is just stealing money from parents.
The best is when parents sign up their kid for (insert sport) camp during that said sports' season.

Don't the kids practice & play enough during the in-season sport already?

EDIT: If parents are signing up so their kiddo can play with their friends, get them out of the house (basically paying for a babysitter), etc then that totally makes sense. But if they think it'll actually make their kid that much better (which many parents believe that it will), then LOL!

CC and long distance track coaching has to be sweet.

Runner: "What are we doing for practice today, coach?"
Coach: "Uh, today, go run 5 miles."

Basically every practice all season long.

Ha! So I am teaching summer school and today me and another teacher were talking about coaching and I said the same exact thing about CC!

"Okay, go run your 5k, stick together, we will give you your time when you get back to school."

Summer camps and all those things are, like you said, a babysitter. They are "the pool" for kids that don't have access to the pool.

Camp is say, 10am to noon. You pay 100 dollars, drop that kid off at 9:30ish and pick them up around 12 or 1215...

They are out of the house for the morning and the parent gets some free time.

Talked to another coach today at school. Just for his little kids section, this one week, two hours for each section. He had 98 kids signed up. CASH

Sounds like you would rather be working a few sports camps instead of teaching summer school. Winking

Camps are for getting noticed. 1on1 private coaching in or out of season has taken my 13yo VB player from OK to dominating a 16yo league. Coaching matters no matter the time of year, camping is for fun and to get noticed.

I'm talking for 7-13 year olds. No good HS coach gives 2 craps about how a kid, at that age, looks at some summer camp. Therefore I doubt those camps are made for "getting noticed".

I agree, 1on1 private lessons are definitely worth the money if you have the right instructor.
