Off the top' I can find two silver linings (admittedly somewhat tarnished).
#1 The response from current recruits and players has been extremely impressive. Showing support for both coach and the program. Mature beyond their years.
#2 It is unlikely that Coach Williams will be a hot commodity on the coaching market anytime soon (at least not for anything other than a lateral move). This, and providing the NU administration stands behind him; I could only imagine, coach Williams would feel an inordinate amount of gratitude and loyalty to the program. Could be a long term, highly effective position coach/recruiter for DONU.
Of course #2 would be predicated on the University standing behind Coach Williams (with consequences of course), giving him an opportunity to make amends and get his life together.
This is the scenario I am hoping for.
Obviously would be best if none of this ever happened. Just attempting to polish this turd of a situation
