Yeah, I don't think so. A lot people talk out there ass. The Michigan DC has a $2.75 million deal over 3 years. So I wouldn't assume anything.
Did your work for ya… top 10 DC’s in NCAA are around $2M. Ours makes $1M. Stands to reason he’ll need a raise or he gone sooner or later
I wonder what kind of bonuses White can achieve. I couldn't find an article talking about bonuses but I'm sure he has some and you would think he would be hitting some.

Ehh, he ain't wrong. Things like place to raise a family, and nice town and good situations and all that are things that fans like to talk about with hope. But 9 times out of ten (or more) it's always about the money/opportunity. At the end of the day, we'll need to pay him more. And we can. And it'll be worth every penny.
Yep, he's top 20 right now, which was probably about right before this season. Unless Rhule/Trev are complete morons, he'll get a healthy raise and he's earned it. Not worried about losing him at all.
There is DEFINITELY room to improve this defense. We aren't near as talented as many think we are. This defense is performing at a higher level than I think it's talent says it should. Wait until some of these guys grow up. Guys like Prince, Lenhardt, Van Poppel, Wright, Nation etc. Tony is getting the best out of all of these guys right now and when/if we get an upgrade in talent AND he does the same thing you will see the defense go to another level.
If we can keep him here long enough to do that we will be in a good place for a while defensively.

Even at 2 million dollars it would be hard to keep him IF a P5 school came calling.
I would think worst case at a P5 school for a HC gig would be 3 million a year for 5 years?
At NU his best contract would be what, 2 million a year for 1-2 years tops, since most Asst Coaches don't get deals past 2 years usually.
Either way, it is a nice problem to have. Having coaching that are clearly hot.

Imo...his raise should start with what Satterfield is making. In no world should Satterfield be making more money than White next year. If this is the case we are doing it wrong.
I also kinda think some "fans" ITT are using their own values and assuming White has the same ones. We can't possibly know what motivates each one of these coaches. Seriously they can be happy in Lincoln, love the staff, love the community and everything Nebraska and get right up out of here for a 50% raise .
Whether people wanna realize it or money is a huge motivator for MOST people. I'd assume that would be the case with coaches as well. Of course there are instances when guys have ties to a particular part of the country, or school, or either other coaches. I don't assume anything when it comes to White. But what I would do is make sure he's compensated for what he's showing he can and has done. If Satterfield is making 1.4 no way I don't give him at least THAT and if probably give him 1.5 mil.
Now if a big boy comes in and wants to show him the bag I'd probably be willing to match that up to 2 mil. The days of these coaches taking "homeboy discounts" are probably over.

Could be wrong but I think the new thing is to give good coordinators 3 year deals. I would give him a raise and add that 3rd year back, especially if we finish strong this year.

But I still feel that there are more variables then people actually know. Everything I could find made no mention of bonuses for White and I would be floored if he doesn't have a bunch of potential bonuses. Hell, I bet he gets $25,000 or $50,000 for just making a bowl game.
Some reports include bonuses and some don't. Either way need to pay the man.
