I’m scared to death that we are on the brink of living through this misconception.
If we fail with this hire we are guaranteed to have to completely reinvent ourselves to rise again.
The only thing we know, is that we know nothing. Moos is a wildcard, and unfortunately just as savvy as Eichorst at preventing information leaks. There is every chance we get thrown another colossal curve ball with this hire.
It scares the sh!t out of me that nothing is being reported by reputable channels. Why have our own HO staff here heard nothing concrete? Every new hire for a decade has been brought in and pronounced that they “get” Nebraska. I’m not sure Nebraska “gets” Nebraska anymore. Throw out all the garbage about walkons, doing things right, culture, etc. Nebraska was once about winning. That’s it, winning. We had convicts and protein shakes, we had walkons, we had all of the good and most of the bad.
That’s Nebraska, and sooner or later we need to trash all this culture bs and hire winners.
What did Devaney say? “I don't expect to win enough games to be put on NCAA probation. I just want to win enough to warrant an investigation.”
Let’s do that, and forget the holier than thou complex.
