Marcway looks the part but coming off an injury in a loaded tight end room not sure what happens. No clue. I have to wonder about Fidone but I'm fine with him coming back. I don't know the details on Markway, Flynt or Ingwerson - hopefully one of them is a bulldozer type like Lindenmeyer.
I could see Rhule hoping to keep all seven. We don't have any new TE's coming in with the next class. Some NFL teams keep four TEs these days in their 53 man roster and all teams roster at least four TEs at some point due to injury. So keeping seven TEs on a roster of 105 makes sense to me, especially when a couple of those guys can help at other spots. So who else leaves before spring ball?

He had five catches in the bowl game.I hope out of that group that Fidone leaves. He's a practice all star and takes reps away from the younger guys, but never really shows up on game days. I want game day players on my squad, not practice players.
Don't expect rational thought from that one. Fidone absolutely is a valuable player when used right. Only an idiot wouldn't see the difference in his role pre-Holgorsen vs post-Holgorsen.He had five catches in the bowl game.
Yes and all of those catches would have been better off with another TE who can actually get yards after the catch. Fidone is a waste of space. He had five catches in the bowl game.

You don't have an actual argument, so you make it ad hominem. Talk about a waste of space. That's rich coming from the biggest waste of space on this board
I'll give you this, he did look better in the bowl game and in Holgorsen's scheme. He's still a monster liability in the run game and seems to have zero acceleration and lateral movement. For me, I could care less if he stays or goes. I like the depth, I just cringe when I watch him try to block. If he could shore that piece up I'd love to have him stay.Don't expect rational thought from that one. Fidone absolutely is a valuable player when used right. Rotate those big bodies constantly through to wear down the edge rusher and then call the slip screen occasionally . (OK, not Fidone, sorry)I could see Rhule hoping to keep all seven. If you can’t block consistently, you can’t be on the field. Period.I'll give you this, he did look better in the bowl game and in Holgorsen's scheme. Be careful, mamma Fidone will come at you bro.Yes and all of those catches would have been better off with another TE who can actually get yards after the catch. Fidone is a waste of space.

It was his aunt doing all the popping off on social media not his mom .Be careful, mamma Fidone will come at you bro.
Makes me wonder what could have been without the injuries. I feel like he lost alot of his explosiveness coming off of those.Frankly, I don’t care if Fidone moves on. For all his hype, he isn’t that good. He is decent+ I would say.
Do you say the same about Barney who had less yards per catch than Fidone??Yes and all of those catches would have been better off with another TE who can actually get yards after the catch. Fidone is a waste of space.
Me too. And he is the one I worry the most about transferring. He was poorly utilized this year. I know he is a true freshman but he should have been on the field more.I like to see Carter Nelson stay at receiver, I think he can be a nightmare for defense stretching the field..
Not sure why anyone clicks on @oldjar07 or @king_kong_ . They are both 🤡Do you say the same about Barney who had less yards per catch than Fidone??
Why not compare it based on actual position? Boerkircher had much higher ypc than Fidone.Do you say the same about Barney who had less yards per catch than Fidone??
You say you want a guy that shows up on game day, it is immediately pointed out to you that he showed up just a couple days ago on game day, and you admit it. You are a clown.Yes and all of those catches would have been better off with another TE who can actually get yards after the catch. Fidone is a waste of space.
If he is still here, Dana can get the most out of him. He just needs to be in the vertical game, and nothing horizontal. He has shown that he can catch the ball. At this point, we do likely have the room for all of our contributors in the 105 next Fall.Makes me wonder what could have been without the injuries. I feel like he lost alot of his explosiveness coming off of those.
Given that about 55 players would be considered contributors, we have 50 more spots for younger developing players. If he is still here, Dana can get the most out of him. He just needs to be in the vertical game, and nothing horizontal. He has shown that he can catch the ball. At this point, we do likely have the room for all of our contributors in the 105 next Fall.
I’m not disagreeing with your defending of Fidone, but this is a poor comparison. Barney’s yards per catch are dragged down by poorly blocked screen passes.Do you say the same about Barney who had less yards per catch than Fidone??
Yards after catch were abysmal in the bowl game. Blocking again was subpar. I expect a much higher standard from our TEs that #24 hasn't come close to meeting. You say you want a guy that shows up on game day, it is immediately pointed out to you that he showed up just a couple days ago on game day, and you admit it. You are a clown.
He had many good blocks in the bowl game, and had yards after catch n a key moment backed up against our end zone on a short pass.Yards after catch were abysmal in the bowl game. Blocking again was subpar. I expect a much higher standard from our TEs that #24 hasn't come close to meeting.
You are now making shit up. Geezus you better rewatch the bowl gameYards after catch were abysmal in the bowl game. Blocking again was subpar. I expect a much higher standard from our TEs that #24 hasn't come close to meeting.
Not making anything up. Saw it in real time. Fidone gets stood up immediately because he's a big lumbering oaf while most football players would get yac.You are now making shit up. Geezus you better rewatch the bowl game
I agree. Completely different opinion of his play the last month. He's being set up for success more frequently.Don't expect rational thought from that one. Fidone absolutely is a valuable player when used right. Only an idiot wouldn't see the difference in his role pre-Holgorsen vs post-Holgorsen.
No one on the team was used incorrectly more than Fidone. All those short passes at the line where he was expected to make multiple people miss and get up field. At least making people miss is Barney's forte.I’m not disagreeing with your defending of Fidone, but this is a poor comparison. Barney’s yards per catch are dragged down by poorly blocked screen passes.
