Maurice, Williams and Valentine all "slowed"and maybe limited to not available for this weekend. Hence the idea of moving McMullen inside if Gangwish is able to go AND one of the Davis twins has been pulled off the scout team and is practicing with the upper units. Wait and see if they need him to play

Would hate to see us burn one of the Twins RS. I think Stolenberg will do a good job if called on.

The injury situation is just ridonkulous. Guys don't seem to come out of the game any more than ordinary, but the post game reports are just brutal.

I might have to have an extra glass of chocolate milk tonight for my bulk phase and then go use up some of my eligibility.

Davis kid traveled to Miami as well.

When it rains it pours. If the depth was available then the injuries would be limited. Way it always works. I will say this with history of Nebraska's program nobody is going to feel sorry for us so hopefully we can make some breaks and compete to have a shot in Indy.

Natter and Keels. Two non-producing scholarship players. Thanks Bo.

What's really up with Valentine? He's been 50/50 to play forever now. Is his therapy not working? I know high ankle sprains can linger but this seems silly!

Hes' 330 lbs of man on tendons and ligaments that aren't much bigger than a 220 lb man would have. High ankle sprains are a 4-6 week deal depending on the severity of the tear and that's if you give them rest.

Although I agree that Bo left the cupboard pretty bare, I think Keels was a big time JUCO recruit that Wisconsin and others wanted right? Sometimes recruiting doesn't pan out, but to the real point, there were a lot of recruiting blunders.

I kind of wonder if there might be a guy or two that are struggling academically and maybe we're just not making that public that its keeping them off the field. Cornicator has implied that. Don't know if Keels could be one of those guys or not, but having gone the JUCO route makes you wonder sometimes.

Agreed. He has a nice frame, but when he has seen the field, he has looked terrible. Could be multiple factors at play, but he just didn't pan out.

no worries
if you have been paying attention you know full well that our talent is rich and deep - on par with Michigan State ... looking forward to rolling through the West

Sick<sarcasm>

So I am guessing that Peyton Newell is not an option for any playing time.

Just so I am clear, how long do we get to blame Bo for any and all problems with the team?

You don't see our DE problem right now as a direct reflection of the previous staffs piss poor recruiting? Hell, our best DE right now would likely be a TE under the previous staff. This staff needs to do the best they can to develop what they have and bring in a couple studs in the next recruiting classes to shore up that position.

He's an Illinois resident; I'm sure he'd be out there if he could go.

My guess on Newell is he needs to add some mass to his frame still in order to be play at this level....

It is interesting that some of the times we've beaten Wisconsin out for talented players, we've ended up with Natter and Keels, and neither has contributed in any meaningful way so far. We also got DJ Singleton for a while after he failed to qualify, and that didn't pan out. I only hope Stevenson makes more of an impact at some point than any of those guys did or have so far.
