Here are some quick notes to pass along following Nebraska's practice on Thursday morning...

***Head coach Scott Frost said Nebraska's players had responded this week the same way they had all season and were ready for another opportunity to play on Saturday.

He said the Huskers "poured everything into this week" knowing that they'll get a bye week in just three more days.

***On Minnesota's offense, he said the Gophers "don't do a lot of things but are really good at what they do." He said stopping the run would be the top priority, but NU would also have to always be aware of potential trick plays.

***Frost said this team had the best player leadership he's had so far at Nebraska. He said that had helped so much with the team being able to bounce back from tough losses.

***Frost said Cam Taylor-Britt played his best game of the season against Michigan, and it was primarily due to the cornerback letting "football come to you."

"When you do your job and you're a good player, good things will happen."

***Frost said Quinton Newsome was challenged early and often this season, especially with teams running at him and testing his physicality. Frost credited Newsome for answering the challenge and "playing tough" football.

On Newsome receiving a Blackshirt, Frost said: "It wasn't given to him. He earned it."

***Saturday will mark Nebraska's fourth road game in the first eight weeks of the season. Frost said he's been proud of how his team has responded while playing on the road, but he added that the Huskers needed to start winning on the road, too.

***Frost said Minnesota's defense had loaded up the box to shut down the run against Nebraska the past couple of years.

He expected a similar strategy on Saturday and said NU would have to find ways to make plays down the field in the passing game to open things up at the line of scrimmage.
