I didn't see any defensive highlights. I guess time will tell if he can master the strategy of sagging off perimeter shooters, baiting them into taking high percentage, uncontested 3 point shots.

My goodness this thread!! RollingLaugh
If a man was in a coma and woke up needing to know the current state of Nebraska basketball, he need only to read this thread and all will be known.

and a bunch of white guys.

Top 10 all time thread in my book. Good job on the title.
Some need to read Washut's article on what he brings to the table before knocking the pick up. Averaging 20/game in international play is nothing to scoff at. He could have signed a professional contract but wants to go to college. Very nice pickup that could play right away.

Icelandic 2 commits to Nebraska 6'5"

I guess he's OK for a guy who's still unsigned on August 7. Good dribbler, likes to drive which fits perfectly in Tim Miles' "offense". But man that jump shot needs lots of work and not sure how quick he will be defensively, doesn't look very explosive to the rim. And playing against an obviously low level of competition.

Hey, Dingle. I wasn't knocking the kid at all. I try very hard to avoid harassing our players and coaches in any way. I think that's low class and unacceptable. Some of the comments in here are out of line. I hope the kid thrives and has a great experience at NU.

This board and its people just crack me up. There's some very funny stuff in here.

I wasn't being sarcastic when I said the the kid looked good in the highlight reel - he did. But I'm going to take a wild guess and say the guys defending him are not going to show up in Big Ten starting lineups next season.

Washut could make Shang Ping sound like an All Star. I don't think anybody is knocking the kid, he may turn out to be a good pick up. He's certainly better than not utilizing the scholarship. Worst case scenario he doesn't work out and is pushed out at years end.

That article is Fake News. It says he is a good perimeter shooter when the experts and stats say otherwise.

I'm glad we're actually filling a scholarship, but difference-making recruits do not go unsigned until August 7th. He is a major project that I can't see playing over any of the many other wing players on our roster (Gill, McVeigh, Taylor, Roby, Allen, Palmer, Akenten). We don't really need another wing who can't shoot.....why did we not just keep Aguek Arop?

Just give him Nick Fuller's number and no one will notice the difference.

Here's irony for you: Nebraskans knocking the quality of high school basketball in Iceland... or anywhere for that matter.

Or even worse, Nebraskans knowing how bad the basketball talent is in Nebraska and also knowing what a reach this is.

Read the article. It says he's an inconsistent jump shooter but averaged ~20 in 2016. It also states that his strengths are his ability to handle the ball (at 6'5"), slash to the hoop, shoot floaters, or dish to perimeter shooters. Hardly fake news. Sounds a lot like Tai Webster who we need to replace. Potential help this late with international experience is a good thing.

I have a contact in Iceland who says this guy will play immediately and all the laughs the board is having will look foolish as he will bring a new style of play to the Huskers. Will be a major player by his Junior/Senior seasons.
