To me it seems like Langsdorf is trying to run an offense similar to what the Packers and Giants are currently doing in the NFL. Both teams for the last 5 years or so always seemed to be next to last in rushing offense. So I'm not holding out any hope that Nebraska will ever have a rushing game under Riley.
The problem is that this offense seems to require exceptional talent to run properly. If you have a Hall of Fame QB, a top 5 WR, and a great offensive line then it can hide your lack of run game. If you have an bad OL, then you end up in a mess like Nebraska and the Giants are in right now. And you can't recruit that type of talent if you are only winning 7-8 games a season. That is why I think Riley will never be able to be successful here.
