The undisputed Welterweight Champion!! 4 strap Champion!! Omaha's own Bud Crawford!! 8-3-24 next fight.

Spence probably isn't even #2 at 147. Jaron 'Boots' Ennis probably is.

Could easily see Bud just giving up all the titles at 147. Boots is a great fight, but it's just not a big name fight to make a lot of $ at this point.

Crawford is the welterweight version of Marvin Hagler. P4P it's either Crawford or Inoue.
It's only Crawford for P4P. He's an all-timer. He's smart, talented, mean...... He is one of the greatest ever, like ever for the weight(s). I don't think he'd have an issue with fighting Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran. I don't know if he wins them all, who knows, but I'd take Bud over all of them. Intelligence, clean living, dedication, toughness, meanness, skill...I got Bud.

Agree, that Spence might not be #2 at welterweight but as a point of discussion, not sure that Boots has what it takes to beat Crawford. Kind of a super skilled, sloppy fighter. He would have to have significantly more power than Spence's lack of power to cause an issue. Boots seems to like stardom, which is fine especially if you want to promote a fight but if you're fighting the GOAT, it might not be a good day. I think Bud fights once or twice more at 147 (cause he has all the belts!) then beats up somebody at 154 or a catchweight.

Spence has a month to trigger the rematch. Bud could make it happen at 147 to basically force Spence out, because I don't think Spence is going to fight at 147 ever again. I wonder what kind of payday a rematch could get. That was an absolute beating, a rematch isn't going to be too enticing for the casual fan.

I don't think a rematch ever happens. We'll see but I think Bud took about five years off Spence's life expectancy after that first fight. It's hard to imagine that Spence could come up with a different game plan to make him competitive. He just didn't seem to have any power to keep Bud honest.

I agree, hopefully they talk spence out of it.

Only argument is maybe they think spence would have more formidable power at 154. I don't buy that, but maybe they do.

If a single person disputes it then he can no longer be declared the undisputed champion.

I haven’t decided yet - but I’m leaning toward disputing it

Because you have a championship belt, dummy?

I’ve decided - I officially dispute that he is the undisputed champion - I hope the OP has the integrity to change the thread title to make it accurate

Bud made Spence look like the total stiff that he is.

Will you kindly clarify the divisions? I’m not sure if I want to dispute both divisions or just one. Regardless I recommend you change the thread title to reflect this new status

Your status doesn't matter when it comes to things you clearly know nothing about..... Professional boxing. And on the board. You are now just a walking talking punch line. Easy to make fun of your sad lil life on this board.

To bad Bud didnt punch out M&M when he went back to the locker room after the fight. Would have been the perfect way to end the nite.
