Not as bad as the kid from Wyoming who was throwing at a stationary target that was about 5' by 5' and he missed it completely from about 20 yards away. It was bad.

I swear, just when I think Riley can't be lamer...I read what Lee is doing. I can hear Riley telling the fans how great Lee can sling it and spin it and stuff...Ugggg

You've got to be kidding me. Another pick-6?? Unreal

Fumbles are turnovers too.

I’m no Tony Romo fan but I am a fan of facts

He played over a decade in the league and isn’t even in the top 50 in number of fumbles by a QB - he has far fewer than Aaron Rogers in the same number of years

He is in the top 5 all time in QBR and is a borderline Hall of famer - don’t believe he will make it

Using Tony Romo as a retort when Cowboys front office comment on Lee’s struggles isn’t very strong

Tanner Lee is a practice squad QB at best. No NFL team will risk putting him in a real game.

The fact he started over POB speaks volumes. It means either Riley and Langs are nitwits, or POB isn't very good.

I hate to make assumptions but I wonder if Tanner had all of the other stuff going for him - played D 1, had the experience, looked the part, transferred and took the chance, did everything the coaches asked for a year, etc, etc. I really think they thought he was their overall best shot given his experience and ability but in hind sight, it spelled doom.

Wow...I stand corrected.

When we hear this cute little tweet it would be interesting to know what kind of a drill they were doing. Were they in a scrimmage setting or were they practicing known routes in a situational drill? Who were the receiver and DB? Did the receiver run a good route? Did the receiver screw up? There's a whole bunch of variables and fortunately for Tanner Lee, Jerry Jones isn't one of the guys interested in drafting him. One pick 6 in practice isn't going to make or break his draft chances.

Good point .. but another tweet referenced 18 7 on 7 reps resulting in 3 INTs. One of the big concerns with Lee coming into this week was the turnovers - it doesn’t appear he has done anything to alleviate those concerns. Hopefully he has a good game and gets things heading in the right direction

We all wish tanner the very best of luck
He was a class act
He didn't whine and complain
His coaches stunk
He had a bad olline and terrible running game

However
He was a turnover machine at Tulane
He was a turnover machine at Nebraska
Even when he had time he tossed interceptions, wouldn't check down and wouldn't come off the primary receiver

He could make it as a perrenial backup
He knows the wco and its archaic nomenclature
But he is who he is
The rest is wishful Riley thinking- style over substance

I think Lee and POB are abt the same, Riley went with lee because he had more experience.

Youre gonna pull a muscle with all that reaching

I would give him the benefit of the doubt as well dingle if it weren't for his track record last season throwing pics. That record gives this tweet legs as a valid observation. Wherever Lee has gone he has thrown pics. That is a fact. So why is this tweet so hard to believe as just more of the same?

could have been a RPO too

we'll see what NFL scouts think soon enough. You do recall that as Tanner went along he was the least of our problems on offense? He drastically cut down on his INTs even though we were almost always playing from behind and they knew we were going to throw it. Wonder if any of the 1st round wonder boys threw any picks in those practices? I'm guessing they did. Our BEST FANS IN AMERICA take one smart assed tweet from one jackass owner wanna be GM and pile on our former QB. Nice.

He wasn't our biggest problem for sure. But he wasn't the least of our problems either.
And he did throw a lot of pics. Therefore, the tweet is funny. Sorry... I don't see that as piling on. For better or for worse, Lee has EARNED his reputation as a turnover machine. So if he wants to shed that rep he needs to get drafted and play well for someone. Until then his rep is what it is.

This is a multifaceted argument.

A) An NFL team would play him if he were to earn a spot as a back-up
2) He tends to throw a good ball for the defenders.
D) Mike Riley knew what was best for the team

I don't get it either. Keiper has him #1 on his draft board. Against power 5 the last couple of years.

Iowa: 23/40 174 yds 0 TD 2 INT
Oregon: 9/24 64 yds 0 TD 1 INT
Nebraska: 16/32 189 yds 1 TD 5 INT
Total NCAA QB Rating = 74.1

There are 125 QB's on the ESPN stats and #125 had a rating of 88.0. Basically, this kid was a complete disaster against better competition. So I guess it would make sense for the Browns to use a #1 pick on him.

All Lee is doing is emulating his hero, as Tommy Armstrong did. Not sure why you would choose Brett Favre to be your hero, but to each his own. Brett Favre was a turnover machine and as a funny aside, I remember a playoff game way back yonder when someone said to me "game over" late in the 4th quarter. I said, "Nope, not as long as Favre is throwing the ball." Sure enough he tossed a pick that very drive and the other team ended up winning. I may have even uttered, "Still got it."

Remember what Nick Foles did against the Blackshirts in the bowl game? I think he went 5/19 or something like that for 70 yards. He's starting the Super Bowl next week.

No I dont recall that... because he threw interceptions in the beginning of the season and in the middle of the season and the end of the season.

Good luck Tanner, you were a very good representative of NU and you tried your best. Delt a tough hand for sure....but also made some mistakes. Hope he makes the NFL and we will welcome him back whenever he wants to visit. Whatever will happen will happen.

I guess I don't get it. It almost seems like some are taking joy in the fact that Lee has had some struggles this week. Why? Do some think that if he succeeds that it somehow makes Riley look better than he is? The kid has always been well spoken, owned up to his mistakes and has talked well about the fans and university. He's not the one that hyped himself up. That came from scouts, QB "gurus", etc. Guys a lot smarter about football than most of us. Yes, he has some issues with certain parts of his game, but I hope he gets those figured out and has a nice NFL career. It would be great for Nebraska if that happened as the pub would be positive. Some people act like he stole their lunch money.

Why? Simple...for two years Riley-lovers tricked themselves and tried to convince others how great it would be with a guy like Lee behind center, how his laser rocket arm would defeat all blitzes...how he could not only "sling it" like a pro but he could also "spin it" like a guy going 1/1 in the draft.

We were told over and over how he is not "a statue" but in fact had wheels that would keep defenses honest and with those wheels, we were told, from Langs that NU would not be abandoning the QB run game and that elements of it would still be used.

Riley lovers told us how when Riley get "his guy" the perfect slinger/spinner, Lee, that we would be seeing 70% completions and no picks...

So when you are told all this crap and you know it is crap ahead of time and then it is proven crap for a season and proven again now...you have fun with it. You make jokes. It is funny.
