We've been trying to reach the remaining California recruits who were in town to get comments from them about their visits to Nebraska. They were dropped off late at the airport and couldn't do interviews since they had to immediately board their plane.

I left a message and interview request for Darnay Holmes, and his father just called me to tell me that Darnay's phone was dead after his trip and he would be calling me sometime this evening for the post-visit interview.

I took the opportunity to ask Darnay's father about the rumors swirling around that he is not too high on Nebraska and would prefer that his son go elsewhere. Below is what he told me:

"I let my kids make their own decisions. It's not my decision to make, it's his. I've known Coach Mike Riley for a long time. He recruited me when he was at USC. Coach Brian (Stewart) is one of my guys and I like him a lot.

"Keyshawn Johnson (Sr.) is Darnay's godfather, and I know Tristan (Gebbia)'s father pretty well too. I don't have a problem wherever he goes, because ultimately it's his decision. If I made this decision for him, I would never hear the end of it from my wife.

"Shoot, he's been there [to Nebraska] more than any other school next to USC. I don't think he's been to any other school more than one or two times.

"I don't know where that stuff is coming from, but it's not true at all. I would have no problem with Darnay going to Nebraska."
