Damn. Oakland must really suck.
5 years ago, Oakland had 3 professional franchises
soon, it will have zero
great work, as always, dipshit elected officials
Reminiscent of the Indians in Major League…. My friend who played for the As in the 70s said that stadium was a shithole back then. Sewers would back up. Locker rooms were tiny dumps.Man the A's are horrendous this year.
Probably true, but I'm also fairly certain that all stadiums where shitholes in the 70s.Reminiscent of the Indians in Major League…. My friend who played for the As in the 70s said that stadium was a shithole back then. Sewers would back up. Locker rooms were tiny dumps.
And they charged the players a buck for a soda.Reminiscent of the Indians in Major League…. My friend who played for the As in the 70s said that stadium was a shithole back then. Sewers would back up. Locker rooms were tiny dumps.
Dick said that Oaklands was the worst one in MLB.Probably true, but I'm also fairly certain that all stadiums where shitholes in the 70s.
powers that be in Oakland won't give a dime, just like with Raiders and GSWone former MLB exec thinks this is a leverage play in order to extract public finding from Oakland for a ballpark there
MLB wants a new club in Vegas but want the start-up fee (billions) that comes with an expansion franchise as opposed to relocation
Makes sense but Oakland is too worried about giving away billions in reparations to people who weren’t even in the US in the 1800s. They’re not going to fund an economic development deal line a new stadium. Frankly though I’m not sure how smart funding stadiums is for a city anyway. .one former MLB exec thinks this is a leverage play in order to extract public finding from Oakland for a ballpark there

just passing along what this guy stated - I hope they move alsopowers that be in Oakland won't give a dime, just like with Raiders and GSW
they're too busy putting all their tax dollars (one of highest tax percentages in the US) to work doing absolutely nothing while driving people away in droves & setting crime rate records
fans deserve better
Are the Royals really going to build a new stadium downtown? The one they have is pretty nice as it is, always has been too.Can we send the Royals with them? Maybe if they combine the two teams they can come up with a .500 record.
It’s amazing how far things have deteriorated since Willie Brown started the descent in the Bay Area. I first visited San Francisco in the mid 80s. 20 years later you could hardly recognize the place. I still love wine country but they’re trying to destroy that too.Hahaha...even the baseball team wants out of that shit hole. Hilarious.
He also said he hit 400 lifetime against Nolan Ryan.Reminiscent of the Indians in Major League…. My friend who played for the As in the 70s said that stadium was a shithole back then. Sewers would back up. Locker rooms were tiny dumps.
Kaufman was one of the nicest in the 70s but that turf was awful. Are the Royals really going to build a new stadium downtown? The one they have is pretty nice as it is, always has been too.
Kansas City was really ahead of its time building the two stadiums next to each other. Most of the awful, multi-sport structures built around the same time have been imploded. Oakland's will likely see that same fate. Are the Royals really going to build a new stadium downtown? The one they have is pretty nice as it is, always has been too.
I could see Oaklands winding up like the Silverdome where they won’t spend the money to tear it down.Kansas City was really ahead of its time building the two stadiums next to each other. Not sure if the Royals will ever get their downtown ballpark, but they need to strike while the iron is hot. With the Chiefs being on top of the NFL world, they can help make the case that their complex is viable as a football-only destination.
swap meets on the weekends, homeless housing during the weekI could see Oaklands winding up like the Silverdome where they won’t spend the money to tear it down.
You haven’t lived until you’ve visited the Fat Lady. The waterfront ballpark would have been a very cool thing for Oakland, but there's really not room for it. The Port of Oakland gets congested as it is, without trying to shoehorn an MLB ballpark next to it.
Maybe Oakland can put in a bid host the 2030 PAC-12 Championship Game.swap meets on the weekends, homeless housing during the week
this is the future many cannot wait for
They take it for granted....5 years ago, Oakland had 3 professional franchises

And Oakland has continued to mess things up.It’s amazing how far things have deteriorated since Willie Brown started the descent in the Bay Area. I haven't followed it all that close but from what I'm reading it sounds like a foregone conclusion that they're moving. Kauffman is awesome, but they're hungering for that "downtown entertainment district" vibe. I haven't been a lifelong Royals fan, but I've been a pretty diehard fan since the day they drafted Gordon, and my passion is flatlined. I fail to understand how a billionaire owner can see video of a million-plus nutso KC fans celebrating a title and compare that to the near-empty stadium now, and not understand that putting a competitive team on the field is just good business. A new stadium won't do anything but line a bunch of pockets unless they start winning more than once every thirty years. Are the Royals really going to build a new stadium downtown? The one they have is pretty nice as it is, always has been too.
I just read somewhere that the Chiefs are slow-playing stadium and facility improvements because they think they might be moving in the near future as well.Kansas City was really ahead of its time building the two stadiums next to each other. The thing that surprised me on my last visit was the development up in to Napa Valley. Highways that were 2 lane are 4 lane and choked with beat up service vehicles. A resort we stayed at just outside the Valley a few years ago had exactly one English speaking person at the front desk and it was that person’s second language.SF and Oakland are complete disasters. Homeless epidemic destroying businesses and tourism.
too large of payroll disparities for consistent competitive balanceCombined they wouldn’t sniff .500
Man the A's are horrendous this year.
