Now that we have a head coach that can string a sentence together, and don't seem hostile to greg sharp questions.

can we bring back a hour long coaches show on sunday night at 10:30 pm in omaha?

I think riley did something with other husker sports in some kinda show on the university's web page, but that seems kinda lame.

Im not asking for a show like the old cornhusker football show where they had players and coaches and went over each play...(golden days) but maybe something like the frank solich show would be in order?

they could have sharp do it, and maybe have guest like babcock, sipped, and that recruiting shawn guy, and jason peters. like big red wrap up does. and maybe they could go over each play and tell the big ten to deal with it.

There is a show on every Sunday night at approx. 11pm on KMTV ch. 3. Nebraska Football Show then the N'-Side Show. Both last 30mins both hosted by Greg Sharpe.

Dude, they should do one and make it like the old-timey coaches shows! That would be fun!

Yes that would be, but I don't think coaches want to take the time to tape show. 1) The coaches are busy enough as it is; 2) they are well compensated these days so the extra money isn't really needed. Just my opinion.

I like shows, radio or TV, where the fans sound off with their opinions on how the team can be better, win more games and national championships. They're very smart and knowledgeable as a rule. Definitely more of that.

Do you think coaches these days are a lot more spoiled then in the past? Dr.Tom used to sit there and discuss every play on air.
while being a mastermind football coach.
and Bo would start to dribble after 2 questions then tell his players about the evil media.
I didn't know they had a half hour football show on tv still, I'll look for that.

I actually think that when we joined the Big Ten the conference rules dictated that the coach's show could only be a half hour. I think they are less likely to go over every play like they used to because every game is on TV now, whereas in the past even an elite program was only on TV two or three times a year.

Thats what was great about the old cornhusker football show, they could have all the assistant coaches and current players on to talk about each play. In addition to Dr. Toms show. It seems like since them days Husker fans have been short changed.

So we used to have 2 hour long shows talking about each play by all the current coaches and players.
now we have 1 half hour show only showing highlights. and big red wrap up who can't show any film and just has past players and media folks on.
There needs to be a shake up in the big 10 and Nebraska media department, to get things squared away, back to how things used to be.

Off on a tangent here, but I miss John Melton on Big Red Wrap up. It'd be great IMO, if someone like McBride would be on regularly. Even if it via video.
exactly, one of the Greatest tv moments I seen was on cornhusker football when melton looked into a camera after we got beat (by some good team). and said every Nebraska fan should get on their knees and thank God we have the players we do. it was a riot.

By whose definition are they smart and knowledgeable? Reminds me of when Tom said people used to send him plays he needed to run only to find they had twelve guys on O. That helps. The above average football person wouldn't last 1 minute in a coaches X and O meeting before they were lost. Pretty sure they don't need out advice. Tom didn't even think they needed his advice as an AD. What does that tell you?

that show that used to have rob zakat a and some iowa fan as the hosts was funny once. when frazier was on and some lady called who was probably elderly and said something a elderly lady would say. and frazier made the gesture she was drinking too much..they never had frazier on after that

Loved Melton. He had Rozier on once who showed up with a jeans cap cocked down over one eye and a toothpick in his mouth. A lot of the show was Melton telling Rozier if he ever wanted to make something of himself, he needed to stop trying to be cool and work harder. He was also bagging on his cap, telling him to speak without mumbling and stuff like that. I got the idea Melton may have been at Barry's for awhile before taping the show.

My favorite was when Melton had linebacker LeRoy Etiene on the show one night. Film showed the linebacker failing to wrap up the runner on several tackles. Melton was merciless pointing out that LeRoy needed to actually tackle not just run into the running back.

I laughed so uncontrollably at this my wife thought I was dying and then told me to keep,it down as to not wake the kid. I want this show to be available on the Internet so badly.
