What a disaster! A group of four of us made a reservation for Thanksgiving Dinner at Cascio’s a week in advance and received a 2:30 p.m. reservation. We arrived at the restaurant at 2:20 p.m. and the lobby was like a cattle stampede with people crowding into the restaurant. After checking in we were told it would be “about 25 minutes’ as they are very busy—however we waited until 3:40 p.m., one hour and ten minutes after our reservation.

We were finally ushered to a table and even as we were getting seated a young waitress asked us what we wanted to drink and if she could take our order for food at the same time—all in our party ordered the turkey dinner. Five minutes after ordering, we received our dinners, however, had not received drinks or our dinner salad. The waitress explained that the turkey dinners came up first so she brought them out first—even though we had not yet received our drinks or salad. We had to ask for the drinks two more times before receiving them, and the salad finally arrived as we were finishing up our dinner.

In all honestly, the food was excellent, however, the turkey portions were very skimpy. I received four pieces of turkey about the size of a silver dollar each, but a mountain of turkey dressing. While we were eating, the floor manager sounded like a carnival barker constantly, and loudly, urging the clean up staff to be quicker and constantly asking the various waitresses to take another table.

Cascio’s had always been our “go to” restaurant for good food and good times, however, it will be a long time before I return due to this carnival atmosphere which was created by management due to overbooking.

hear what youre saying, but you really should send this to mgmt.

watch a 'black friday' video. it might make you feel better. its the holidays and americans lose their sh*t this time of year.

People working for little $, on a holiday unable to spend time with their families to serve yours. The only thing that I find sad about this is that they were open.

Thanks. My son had to work yesterday ( or be fired). The only reason for it is that theres a customer demand. We make it a point as a family not to shop or dine or see movies on Thanksgiving or Christmas for anything.

Very frustrating indeed. The mall in SoCal where my company has a store wanted stores open from 6PM - 12AM. And to that, we said, "EFF That!" So we didn't even open doors. The consumerism on national holidays baffles me.

We look at it a little differently. We have two bars but only open if we have volunteers to work. Many want to as they have nothing to do. Because we have a lot of regulars and many of them single men they look at us as family. We do the same thing on Christmas eve and Christmas but only if someone wants to open. I often work one myself and I can tell you it is one of the biggest tip nights as everyone is just so happy we are open.

As a drunk myself, I respect that a lot.

Sometimes you have no choice to go out on holidays to eat. We moved across the country and were in a hotel on Christmas Eve and for days until we found an apt. I think we got a take out pizza from Godfathers!

No kidding. Some of us are on the road for work. Two years ago I was in Mason City, Iowa for work on Thanksgiving. I was a thousand miles from home. It sounds like some of the people here think my co-workers and I should have just gone hungry.

I've had a lot t-day dinners on the road, so I hear where some of you are coming from this. This Thanksgiving was great though as I go to go to a nice family dinner in Lincoln with a lot of people there (unusual for me). I sat next to a former player that played for Bo. Had a nice chat.
