Right off the bat, let me say that I'm an Ohio State fan.
I have a ton of respect about the discussion of Saturday's game on this board. Topics like Malik Hooker's hit on Tommy Armstrong, the final score (whether Urban Meyer was running it up or not), penalties called/not called, etc. have been discussed without the usual histrionics found on other boards (Penn State fans actually believe phone calls are made from Jim Delaney during games to overturn calls so Penn State will lose. I'm not making that up). Those topics have been brought up and the discussion has been civil and well thought out. Other viewpoints are considered and respected. I don't see a ton of profanity, name calling, or sarcasm.
It's nice to see a passionate and knowledgeable fan base that doesn't revert to infantile verbal barbs when things don't go well or when someone sees a situation differently than they do.

BTW, Tommy Armstrong returning to the sideline was impressive enough, but when he started coaching his teammates my level of respect (and everyone who saw it) went through the roof. I hope he returns soon and continues to re-write the record books. He has certainly earned it.

Beat the Gophers!

Thanks for the kind words Buckeye, and thanks to your Unniversity, fans and students for the amazing class they showed in honoring Sam Foltz. I saw your band two years ago and I have zero doubt that is the best band in all of college football. Good luck the rest of the season - can't wait to see the clash between OSU and Michigan. Both have championship level coaches and championship level talent to go with it.

I admit I have a much better impression of Ohio State now than I did before last week. I thought there was something of a Texas complex building where I thought you just looked down upon everyone else. So I didn't really expect to see any kind of Sam Foltz tribute, thinking you might see that as beneath you. So I was very surprised and pleased to see how you went all out to honor him. I'm not real familiar with the importance of the Buckeye sticker tradition, but I read that it is rare for somebody outside the program to receive them, so the helmet with the 27 stickers was a very nice gesture. And TBDBITL(did I do that right?) doing the SF 27 formation at the end of the halftime show and what they said over the PA was very nice too. And thanks to your fans for chanting Tommy Armstrong's name as he was taken off the field. Good luck to you the rest of the season-personally, I'd rather see you in the playoff than Michigan.

Every fan base has their idiots. OSU seems to have more than many (like the 'super-fans' who dress up in capes and mug for the cameras), or people with no affiliation to the University who latch themselves onto a winning program to help get through the day, only to be utterly obnoxious when it doesn't go the way they want. It happens. Unfortunately, these types are the vocal minority that give OSU fans a bad reputation. I think you'll find true OSU fans to be passionate about their team but respectful to others. Heck, I've even seen a group of OSU fans surround some m*ch*gan fans and walk them through the parking lot to keep them safe from the aforementioned idiots. Anyway, Nebraska fans have a reputation for being great and I hope OSU fans earn that reputation someday.

It is a "game" and the young men who play it are our "kids". Too many sometimes forget that. The Foltz tributes, Meyer backing off in the fourth Q, tOSU concern for our QB, players helping each other up, etc. showed me we played a team and program that has "been there before" and acted like it. I haven't made it to Columbus yet, but have been to our games at Oklahoma, Notre Dame, USC, and Texas and it was the same deal - fans comfortable in their own skin don't act like jerks, mostly. My trip to Penn St was a nightmare, the worst road trip I ever took - by far, which surprised me because with the success they have had, I thought their fans would be better than that.

You're an idiot. This from a nebraska fan......

“I just made the mistake of watching Nebraska on the road. Game results aside, I would definitely recommend that anyone who’s a fan of college football to attend a game at Ohio Stadium. First of all, Ohio State fans were incredibly hospitable. Not a single issue with them. Secondly, the stadium atmosphere is top notch. Of all the Big Ten schools I’ve seen games at (still gotta see Penn State, Rutgers, and Maryland), this was the most intense place to watch a game. Thirdly, the tailgating and bars around Ohio Stadium are an absolute blast. There’s a sandwich shop with a sandwich called the Fat Bastard that was amazing (however I think Fat Sandwich in Illinois takes the edge), and if you say “%&$# Michigan” than you don’t even need to buy yourself a drink the entire night.

“All in all, I had a great visit. Thank you to all of the Ohio State fans who made this trip a good one. And to anyone who wants to check out a great College Football experience, you should check out Columbus.”

You're right. There are no OSU fans that embarrass themselves either by their actions or by calling others names like 'idiot' for no real reason......Oh wait, yes there are. I pray for your happiness:)
