Same story different year and author. They are the only team behind us in the number of penalties committed so far this year. We are 126th out of 127th according to NCAA.org. We are averaging over ten penalties a game.

You have to actually attempt to run the ball. Newby was doing good and had acouple of nice runs but we were playing catchup. Can't run the ball down 24 points. That is very annoying, but not as bad IMHO as being 71st in rushing.
Are you twelve? I said number of penalties committed so far this year.I know it's neither here nor there, but Nebraska is 124th, with bowling green, Louisiana Monroe and Baylor rounding out the 127 teams. Per ncaa.com. This is per game, as LA Monroe and Baylor have only played two games.
Quit being an ass... And a troll! at the same sight they showed average per game which is more representative than your agenda here. Are you twelve? I said number of penalties committed so far this year.
Do you know what this means? "It's neither here nor there "… I'm not arguing that the stat is bad. I just love how you conveniently pick the worst possible stat to find when you are all about averages. For example, "Bo won 10 games a season." "We average over 10 penalties a game." So why now all of a sudden do you go with most penalties but not an average per game? It's obvious that you're trying to make it as bad as possible…You win. Use whatever penalty stat you want to float your boat. If you find enough ways to complain about the numbers, you don't have to acknowledge it's a problem with this staff. I can give you a list of names here who will either deflect with issues like yours or will simply ignore this whole discussion.
I do find it simply stunning how comfortable some people are with what we're seeing on the field. Those same people are the posters who call someone a boliever for posting troubling stats. It's been that way ever since people posted their concern for Nebraska hiring a career .500 coach. If anyone has any concerns, they are a boliever apparently. I wonder how long that trend is going to last around here...?Enough deflection.. Any discussion on the actual topic, Timnsun? You could always say this will change when we get rid of Bo's players?
The last few years, Nebraska's high ranking in the penalty category was a reflection of how out of control Pelini was.Penalties are sometimes used by people to get an idea of how well-coached a team is. Not all well-coached teams are extremely low in penalties, but they will have wins to count in their favor.
Any type of discussion that does not paint Riley in the best possible picture has been viewed as "trolling" now for 9 months. If we expect to win, fixing penalties would be a good start. It won't guarantee wins, but it's a good start.
Maybe I responded too harshly, but I didn't appreciate being called a 12 year old for merely pointing out it was 124 out of 127 when comparing apples to apples... Again, I didn't say the stats weren't bad at all... They are very troubling. I don't know where you got the idea that I was deflecting from the issue at hand.I really hope for rational discussion at some point. The concept of troll and Boliever gets old. It's just a way of dismissing any point of view that isn't similar to your own. However I really belive it's a handful of posters...most would be willing to look at all sides.

We are heading in the same direction as previous years on turnover margin also. With our cosgrove defense I don't see us forcing many turnovers this year either.
