For those of you who are all about the stats.

All credit to @huskeranalytics

not surprising, if your opponent has a weakness, you try to exploit it

Wow shocking. BYU with their starting QB passed more vs Nebraska than backup Magnum against their other opponets?

South Alabama was behind big all game long, and didnt try running more?
.
Miami passed about 8% more against Nebraska than other opponets. Gee maybe Miami found rushing against Valentine and Collins a wee bit more challenging than Florida Atlantic and Bethune-Cookman?

USM was blanked at half and down more than 3 TDs, oh and averaged less than a half yard per rush attempt.

So offensive football coaches attack where they think the other team is weakest? Holy crap what a concept. Give this man a seat on Gameday! He's on to something!

I would just like to say, this is absolutely shocking. I had no idea this was the case! Op with another dynamite post.

You act like you're disregarding the numbers and then you acknowledge their validity...

Those teams passed more at the beginning of the game as well...

If I was playing against our defense, I would throw every single play. Our d-line would wear down and get even less pressure on the QB.

Pretty much what Banker and Stewart have been saying since post Game 1.

Sorry, man, not playing the "insult people on the internet" game. Have a good one.

such a negative thread title

I recommend it be renamed "Dominant rush defenses make other teams pass more"

Make our pass defense sound positive by omitting it?

Slogans to make our pass defense FEEL more positive: At least they're not 128th - Nevermind there are only 127 spots...

No BS spin. You discuss difficult things by being direct and transparent.

I took it as a joke... It made me laugh. Maybe JLB was serious, but I didn't take it that way.

I should have been more direct and transparent as to the sarcastic nature of my post in order to not overtly offend those that take message board posts and college football in general way too seriously causing them to feel the need to emphasize words with CAPITOL LETTERS AND ITALICS.

Sorry @jlb321 missed the sarcasm next time I will not use CAPITAL letters in order to not overtly offend someone who doesn't take things "too seriously."

Hopefully the coaches are working on fixing the pass defense. I want to believe it's just adjusting to a new system, but Banker's defense was never great in the past. We have better athletes than OSU did on defense, though. We will see how the pass defense fares the rest of the year. Lot of football left to be played, and we are about to head into conference play where running is generally more prolific than passing. With that being said, we are about to be tested against the run soon and I won't be shocked if we start seeing issues in the run game also.

Teams adapt, but running teams won't abandon the run u less we are able to stop it. We will see early passing threats from teams who won't do that against other defenses, as ours is weak, at best currently.

Prediction: pass defense numbers improve throughout the season, and rushing defense drops quite a bit. Hopefully I am wrong about rush defense, and we don't drop as much as I expect us to drop.
