I like us to beat Maryland at home. Wouldn't have thought that a few weeks ago... Maryland has been in freefall since the 4th quarter against Ohio State. Lost to Illinois and Northwestern and then Penn State annihilated them yesterday.
It would definitely take a lot of pressure off for the last two games…
Other wise our whole season will be about beating a sad Ioway team

Indiana upsets Wisconsin days after Bob Knight dies. Absolutely insane how consistent that is.

Maryland is a bad matchup for us.

The problem is that our O is usually the worst unit in the game.
Chiefs just won the superbowl when Len Dawson died right before the season. Bears won their first game of the season about an hour after Dick Butkus died, also an upset. Brett Favre had a great game and Packers won right after his dad died. Indiana was an easy +274 on the moneyline. Always bet on big deaths.
This is a huge game. Maryland is starting to flounder so get to 6 wins then play a little looser against iowa and Wisky… maybe we can finish 7-5 and feel good about future… we’ll see
Understatement. Probably our best shot at getting bowl eligible.
Run Johnson and Grant and then play action to Coleman. Throw in a few QB runs to keep them honest.

I’ll take 6-6 and still feel good. I’d like to know the odds of us winning 1 of the next 3….there’s a reason Maryland is favored and we will probably also be a dog to Wisky and Iowa too. Making a bowl game won’t be easy.

I honestly believe the players and coaches didn’t take MSU serious. I look for them to rebound this coming weekend.
Nothing will be easy. The biggest problem I see is defense's know how to attack Nebraska now and I have no faith in overcoming it. We have to create turnovers and limit penalties. A little luck would be nice as well.
To me it was simple as being a road game. This isn't the same team that played in the last one. I also knew MSU 's staff was competent enough to figure out our offense.

Good point, but now maybe a little sense of urgency winning in front of the home crowd..
And of course Notre Dame "won one for the Gipper" even though George Gipp died in 1920 and the game they won for the Gipper against Army was in 1928.
Incidentally, Nebraska lost 13-3 to that Army team in West Point two weeks later as our only loss that season.

The same school that beat the crap out of Red Grange so badly in Memorial Stadium he was reportedly leaning against the goal post "bawling like a baby".
Play action to Fidone/Coleman should be a staple. 1 of them should be able to get a step if the rushing game is going like it has been.
Gave up 51 points at home and had -49 yards rushing which means no ground game to go with giving up lots of sacks.
There should be some film of how to move and score against them.
Concerned about our pass defense in this one. I think our offense will need to score 24+ to win, which is a very tall ask
This is going to be a battle and we can win it. I hope our D coordinator sends the freakin’ house at their “skilled QB” and gives him a taste of our corn-fed fieldturf.
