Tennessee v Nebraska canceled

I think when the series was postponed so TN could play at the NASCAR track we all knew in our hearts the games would never happen. I'm disappointed in both no Spring Game and no Tennessee series. Rhule and Dannen better damn well start winning or their anti-fan decisions are going to really piss people like me off.

this is what people don't seem to understand:

9 B1G games guarantees at least 1 late season cupcake will be on the schedule.

1/3 of the conference won 5 games or fewer last year.

folks act like we play ohio state every week in this league. couldn't be farther from the truth.
Dude have you watched who the SEC plays towards the end the season.. it looks like a bunch of scrubs from the local ymca. Worst week of football for the sec

Of course

Not that different from playing 1-11 northwestern or 1-11 Purdue or the losingest program in college football history (Indiana) in November

Not surprising ...why cant we have nice things?
Short-sighted people run most things in this country. As a season ticket holder I would gladly pay double for the Tennessee game to make up lost revenue from the home and away, vs playing North Central Alabama State or whatever random school they find. There is no point in having season tickets if you don't have marquee games. And good non-conference games are multiple times better than 95% of conference matchups.

Absolutely terrible fvcking look for NU. Terrible. Reminds me of how Frost and Moos wanted to cancel the Oklahoma series until there was an uproar from fans.

It's sad how far this program has fallen. And embarrassing. Nebraska-Tennessee would have been a great matchup. And I couldn't care less about if NU won the game or not. It would have been great. And it's good for the program to have these kinds of marquee games.

I mean, Tennessee in Lincoln? Could you have imagined? It would have been epic.

I haven't decided about Rhule and Dannen yet, but I'm glad they're willing to anger Nebraska fans who have no touch with reality in order to rebuild the program.

edit: deleted boomer. Not fair, plenty of out of touch Nebraska fans of all ages.
Count me in as not being a fan of Dannen. I'll support Rhule and I totally get the idea of not wanting to play Tennessee next season. It's Dannen who is doing some things that I don't like, including giving in to Rhule and not playing Tennessee then making up a silly excuse. That's my perception of it. I also don't like the idea of changing our concessions and "doubling the revenue" (translation = doubling the prices or cutting back on quality). I also heard that Dannen wants to do away with tale gating at half time. No re-entry. Wants to open a beer garden somewhere outside the stadium- in other words, you can only drink Dannen's $12 cups of beer.

I'm sure you're right. But it seems odd that so much TV money and donation dollars are coming in and NU is still worried about a temporary drop in stadium revenue.
Tennessee is in the group of teams that can catch a bid depending on how things play out and NU wants to get there. League play could be more or less dicey depending on schedule draw. There was not sufficient interest from either NU or TN to play.

You know I am not the only one thinking this

NU = Kentucky, Mississippi State, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Arkansas

NU < Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Oklahoma

NU <<< Texas, Georgia, Alabama and LSU

We are what we are and currently that is a lower tier P2 Team. Until we prove otherwise this is where our once proud program is.
I would put Tennessee and Ole Miss in the same tier as Alabama and LSU.

non-con 2025 sampling:

Ohio st vs Texas
LSU @ Clemson

Michigan @ OU

Wisconsin @ Bama
aTm @ Notre Dame

among many, many more

we are simply choosing not to participate & completely disregarding the fans in doing so

playing big non-con games is a proud NU tradition.

for f*cks sake we played a game in Japan amidst a National

To be clear, That K State Nebraska game in Japan was in ‘92. It was a conference game we had to play. And we definitely were not in the national title conversation that year. But I do agree with you on everything else. It’s a bad look.

Well, I bet Tennessee would have followed through and played us though. I would respect Dannon a little bit if he were just honest with the fans-- (1) we simply don't want to play a spring game. (2) We can make more money by doing away with selling local products in the stadium. (3) We think we would lose twice to Tennessee so we're paying the Vols a million bucks to get out of playing them.

#3 wrong 😑

Yes. I think it’s about making more money.
That's a cop out. They operate at a surplus of over $6 1/2 million a year. An extra home game might make an extra $3 million or so in 2027 (just a guess), but NU is paying $1 million to Tennessee to break the contract. So maybe NU gets an extra $2 million out of ducking Tennessee? That's about 1% of their operating budget. And NU would probably still turn a profit in 2027 either way even without having to cut a single dollar out of the massive amounts of fat in that $210+ million yearly budget they have.

That’s not a small amount. More money and no downside. Good business.

of course it's us who want to cancel

bitchmade

LMAOOOO! Here’s Kong who challenged me to a game. Said he would love to “bully me” in NCAA 25, then proceeded to ignore me before inventing an excuse to back right the fvck out of it to the surprise of no one.

Of course it was him who wanted to cancel: Bitchmade???

🤣🤣🤣

Please, talk more about integrity to fight your battles you bitch ass hoe 🤣

How so? We think we're going to beat Tennessee?
I will concede that Ohio State took the game off when we played them in Columbus but we lost that game by four and absolutely had a chance to win. The Vols lost to OSU by 25. So no I do not think it’s a stone cold lock that Tennessee would have swept the series.

Why don’t we collectively focus our energy on D-bag @19Football19, who continually infects all our threads. Despite what his profile pic says, I’m sure he does regret every day of his life after coming out of his mother’s womb. I mean, I can smell the meth whenever he posts on here. It’s some pretty crazy stuff. #IOWALIFE
I bet his mother has regretted every day of her life after that day too.

Ironic that we dropped an SEC team off our schedule to end up with a more SEC like schedule…
I mean, the only thing better would be to put those non-con games in the middle of the season. Like Alabama playing Fordham in week 9

Some of you will defend rhule, a coach who has proven nothing here, no matter what. Our new AD who wants to stick it to our best fans, too. Cant do any wrong!

I swear rhule coud shit in your yard and yell “fertilizer!” And youd be telling your neighbor how great rhule is for fertilizing your yard.

Reminds me of those defending frost and gladly smililing while he bent the fanbase over and decided not to play a football game. See how that turned out?

First spring game and now this. And some of you go “thank you sir may i have another!” and have the nerve to chastise people who want us to act like a big boy program and play real football games. Pathetic.
