Team needs..

We already tried the exorcism by bringing Solich back and naming a locker room after him. Didn’t work; the curse is still intact. What other former Huskers have we wronged that we could invite back this year—Turner Gill? TMart? The Kevin Cosgrove Memorial Concession Stand has a certain ring to it…

But it's reality. I don't like how extreme NiL is and it essentially being free agency.
But you either buy a QB now and pay him or suck.
Yeah I don't understand the opposition to NIL. It is something we can control. We don't have palm trees and beaches and haven't been a top program in two decades. To get those 4-5 star players to come here and to keep our best players we CAN and SHOULD use NIL money as an incentive.

I don’t disagree with you about the NIL program needing to be more than a good ol’ boy club that gets praised for crappy results. That absolutely needs to happen. But with such a weak schedule even this mediocre roster should have won 7 games.
We needed like 3-4 players to do this. The edge there is pretty thin. Was. History, now. One healthy, better QB. C’mon. We all now see this. Let’s go after Will Rodgers. Pay him $1.5M next year.

You guys will things into being by buying in. You do it all the time. "THATS JUST THE WAY THINGS ARE" at the top of your lungs. Maybe they shouldn't be.
Participating in it and selling it is typical garbage human thinking these days.
Jesus, the media has you guys bad.
So we pay to bring in a QB, give him yuuuuge money. And what happens when HE sucks?
Rinse and repeat, been there, done that

To get back to playing Nebraska football. Don't care what big ten football is or big 12, ACC, PAC, ect. Once TO retire and Frank got fire, Nebraska lost its identity in football. Every coach since has try or looks like they want to do what other teams are doing. Westcoast, Spread, Broken Chicken Wing, ect. Offense, instead of doing what works best for Nebraska, whatever offense that is. But they need to find, work it, get dam good at it, and rock it.

We haven’t, tho. Not like other similarly-endowed teams have. We’re distinctly underperforming based on our level. We’re like a B+ student getting a C- currently. maybe a D+.

Awesome first post. It’s hard to imagine how big a loser one has to be to create an account a month ago, sit on it, and then trot it out just to troll a 5-7 team, but I’m sure it’s a big moment for you.

Are you this paranoid in real life or is this just an internet thing?

Explain J.S…. We did just what you say, and look where that got us.. these 1 score losses have NOTHING to do with NIL. This is coaching and idiot mistakes by our QB’s..

Huh? Sims has an NIL value of $125k. That’s less than 1/3 of the value of the least paid QB in the top 25. You got what you paid for from him, IF you paid into the system. I realize everyone can’t just pony up money for their players, but there ARE enough who can make us closer to ‘elite’ in terms of talent. We have that money, for us at least to be consistently ‘good’ and occasionally ‘dangerous’. We don’t have Texas, Michigan, UGA or tOSU funds. But we COULD be good. At least competitive. We’re a f*cking embarrassment.

Know for a lot of you I’m just ‘beating a dead horse’, but tell me how I’m wrong. We hold our own destiny in our pocketbooks, but refuse to do anything about it. Do something about it.

How much did we actually pay Sims? Who did we outbid for his turnover prone ass?

So $125k equals the results from J.S.., got it.
You think anyone of our investors would anti up again for someone else after being burned by that investment….pshhh don’t blame them for being “gun shy…” This is not a result of NIL, again this falls on coaching and idiot decisions by our QB’s all year..

He was a complete waste of $125k. HAD WE paid for a $1M QB (like the rest of the ranked teams), STATISTICALLY we’d have had a better chance of what we’d be seeing transpire on this board, as we speak. And you KNOW I’m right. Even a million $ QB would’ve had a career-ending injury in the Minnesota game and we’d still won… what would that win have meant for our program, NOW?

Sims payment was lip-service. Inexplicable. Was doomed to fail based just on his THEN-CURRENT stats. They’re obviously worse, now (or are they, they not be). A LOT of better QB’s signed for a lot more money, with a LOT of different teams. Any of which would have us in a bowl game, RIGHT NOW. Want me to list them? It’ll take awhile…

And that’s one position. Imagine a competent O-line. We had arguably a Championship-caliber defense this year. We had ZERO CHANCE this year with what they SPENT on our offense. Any combination of shifts with or without injuries would’ve been with a standard deviation of what’s present. MAYBE that’s a bowl berth. But it could’ve been easy.

We’ve lost what, 5 games by one score this year, again? There’ll be close games. My POINT is that a paid QB, some paid O-line and an elite WR or two makes us a bowl team with some noise to make. We passed.

Just an average division 1 QB gets us to at least 7 wins. We don’t have 1 on the roster. Then just add 1 quality WR probably gets us to 9 wins. We likely don’t even have more than 1-2, 1 score games.

For me, it is hard to tell how much is on the players and how much is on the coaches. Having offensive players that can’t execute the basic plays because of their own limitations certainly limits what a coach can do.

But, but… Matt Davison was the most qualified person from within the insular good ol’ boy dogpatch to run the NIL collective. Therefore, it must be doing a great job.

Think very little is on the players or on the coaches. There were some pretty gnarly coaching decisions for sure, but just based on talent I think we’re about where we should be. Close to in our out of a bowl. The fault is our AD/NIL on putting talent on the field.

You and I both hope that HE is a factor here. Allegedly the AD vs MD, one f*cking random guy, made a very big difference in what we saw this year on the field. Was told that that MD alone was some big factor, I just find it hard to believe that one guy could do this. If I’m wrong, I’ll keep my 30+ year season ticket subscription. If not…

I find it more plausible that it’s a systemic thing. Also don’t believe any federal election will be meaningful, ever again, so…

Your right 3 star dual threat QBs never fail or need to change positions so facts must be on your side
You said he wasn’t a qb.. which was an idiotic statement… you watch any games at Stix? If so, I’ll come find you and teach ya some things about football & your vs you’re

Cripes man the insanity is running rampant today after losing yet again. Whining about whining about not whining while everyone shares their opinion on a place meant to do so. I just want to sit back and watch the forum burn. Smokin

I read some logic on here and I agree but you guys would be better served to understand that it's simply a turn over issue and sorry QB play ,that was the difference in 90% of our games. Don't over think it.

When does the off season NC talk start? I’ll bet tomorrow. We’re young (even tho the entire defense is gone after next year), we just need OL and speed, rinse repeat for 24 years.
🖕🏼Go back to your 2 Rose Bowl Trophy’s and one Orange Bowl site.

Must be proud of a lame 10 team that was handed the game being 2.5 underdog.

Obviously need to upgrade talent everywhere and a good QB. Really need some good RBs if we want to be a running team. Johnson missed a lot of cutbacks today and some in the recent games. He doesn't have good vision. Multiple RBs both via recruiting/portal and try to get somebody special in the portal.
