Legend HS is basically at my front door, eldest daughter will be a freshman there next year...I now have an excuse to check out a game next fall.

No one kill me for this...but with this being a small class, what do the coaches see in this kid that other schools don't? I don't care about stars, but I do care about offers and I'm not impressed with the offer list. If this were a larger class, I'd get it. But with us taking maybe 16, hopefully Riley and co are seeing something others aren't.

Watch his film. Long lean and explosive plus has a serious motor. His frame has plenty of room to fill out. You can tell he has been coached up because of his advanced pass rush moves, not just the usual high school bull rush. Has a good football IQ, helps when your dad was a linebacker and team Captain at Iowa plus later was also a collegiate coach. Tons of potential with this kid. I have a feeling his offer list is going to be quite impressive by the time he signs. Should be one of the top players in Colorado this year.

Plus, for star gazers he's a 5.7 3 star. 5.8 he would be a 4 star. May move up.

I understand the sentiment, but I think we're going to see more teams come after him before signing day. When the staff offered Porcher last year he was a two star, by the time he committed elsewhere he was a four star. I think this could be a similar situation, but with Wildeman ending up here.

His recruiting is just starting to blow up... I've read several P5 schools were very close to offering (including a few Pac12 schools and Notre Dame) and he wasn't even ranked on this site until the past month.

His first step is a monster and it goes vertical, not horizontal. 6'6" with great wing span. Kid has what your looking for in a 3-4 DE 5 Technique.

He's got other Power 5 offers-Arizona State, Iowa, Oklahoma State, Washington State. Based on your comment, I expected to look at his offer list and find that he had no Power 5 offers. Does every player have to be offered by Alabama, Ohio State, USC and the like for them to be good enough?

You should edit this, you truly don't get it ? Multiple positives and we could have a "mad stork " out there tearing it up and knocking it down. Read and figure out the positives by category

Awesome, the kid's def an athlete with the frame to add size. Watch the Junior year film, underrated...may not have the ranking stars but passed my eye test, big pickup! In Diaco we trust.

One thing is the fact that he's from Colorado. They play good football there, but that state is not widely recruited. You won't see any SEC teams coming through there on a regular basis. Pretty much just Big 12, most of Pac 12 and Nebraska with a few others. I think that carries over to kids' rankings for the most part.

It would be nice if all the heavyweights offered him. What he's saying is why are we moving on this kid with limited scholarships to give. I think it remains to be seen how many we offer. It will probably be at least 20 I would think. There will be attrition before school starts in the fall.

This is a great get. Look, as excited as we all are right now with our recruiting, we have to remember we are still Nebraska. By that I mean, even during Osborne's dynasty years, we did not recruit like Alabama and Ohio State do now. We did not land 18 four stars and 3 five stars to go along with 2 or 3 three stars. Don't get me wrong, to be sure Osborne got a good number of what today we call four star kids (Frazier, Wistrom, etc...) but his teams were made complete by recruiting the Tate Wildeman kind of kid and then getting him in the weight room. This is one of those underrated "inside the 500 mile radius" kids that Nebraska HAS to have.
I for one am just as excited about this recruit as for all the others. It shows our coaching staff completely understands the art of recruiting to Nebraska.
