After watching Penn State and USC and some of the other upper level teams, does anyone have any doubt whatsoever that recruiting is of the utmost importance and trumps coaching? We will never be close to elite again if we cannot recruit excellent players across the board. I had told a good friend earlier this year, we need 2-3 playmakers on each side of the ball. Well, we need more than that. We need them across the board.
Watching players like Barkley, Jackson, etc. it is obvious......players make plays. Anybody on our team this year that came close? Sure, development and coaching are important, but I know now, after critically watching these guys, recruiting is paramount. Hopefully, we finish well this year in that category. Go get 'em coaches.
