Sunday, March 16th Nebraska at UCLA (Huskers lose 5-3)

Swept. UCLA may very well be the class of the Big Ten this year, but the way the team seemed to roll over when things starting getting sideways in the middle innings was discouraging to say the least. The road trip can still be a success with sweeps of Pepperdine and USC, but does anyone see that happening?

We are 1/3 of the way through the season and sit at 7-11. 1-5 in the league. The only possible grade for work performed to date is F.

This offense is atrocious. The pitching after losing MM has done slightly better than expected but this offense is so bad. What changes did that make and who is running the offense now? They need to be canned.
Sirianni was placed in the 3rd base box this year. I have no idea how much difference that makes on the whole, but they just got picked off a bunch of times vs Pepperdine.

I know Bolt has some competency as a hitting coach, else I'd be calling guys like Max Anderson a liar. But yeah, guys like Stone and Swansen are not consistent, Carey has never seemed to be very clutch and looks like a career .250 hitter (meeeeeh), Sanderson is not hitting like he did last year, and on and on. Nunez looks good, but he's also a freshman so there could always be some lower lows than a seasoned vet, we'll see. I was hoping for another regional year at minimum, hosting opportunity at best. That opportunity is not just down the toilet, it's back into the ocean tangled up in a giant floating island of discarded plastic and some dead dolphins.
