While keeping in perspective that this isn’t even a true scrimmage, what takes does everyone have. These are my observations from Saturday.
The Huskers have a QB that understands the position and can make all the throws. The WR room has been flipped. Dowdell and Johnson can be effective, if Gabe and Rhamir never stay healthy. The O-Line showed a push and has some depth. On defense, it’s hard to take anything away with such “vanilla” play. However, we know what we have there.
Sticking with offense, the continued improvement and growth of the O-Line is very encouraging. They are a year away from having the quality depth it takes, to have a consistently good program. If Donnie can build consistency there, it will be a good season.
These are my few takeaways. I hope for a great off season and no new injuries going into fall camp. GBR
