SM returns opening kick shocking them early, MR wants to set the tone early and goes for two. JT catches a lateral pass and then dumps it off to Imani. We get a freak fumble recovery off the kickoff at the 37 yard line. First play the offense acts confused and a direct snap to ozigbo catches the defense off guard and runs it in for what looks to be the Huskers 2nd TD. Buts called back by a holding call. Offense sputters and gets a FG. MSU then starts its carving of our secondary. Your going to wish Melvin Gordon was running the ball, as Cook sets a NCAA single game passing record.

MSU hasn't beaten any team convincingly this season and it's a night game at Nebraska. Definitely expect a very tight game. Also, MSU D has been somewhat porous against the pass, so no need to think you guys will be shut down on offense. Our feeling at MSU is that we've underachieved big time, but somehow sit at 8-0 and weathered the storm with some clutch late game performances and of course luck (see UM game finish). We've also been devastated by injuries, however we finally had our much needed bye week, which will hopefully get some of our main guys rested and more healthy.

I expect a very competitive game. Like some of the posters have said, it's not like you guys are getting waxed. All of your losses were close to wins. As a State fan, I will feel much better if you trot out the back up QB and not Armstrong.

Michigan State hasn't blown out everyone this season. Even the Indiana game was close during the second half. While Michigan State is clearly the favorite, they are not nearly as consistent, as they were the last couple of years (2013-2014). They do have a nice record with QB Connor Cook.

They were in a close one at Rutgers. They are coming of a bye week and an emotional road win @ Michigan.

It will be important for Nebraska to keep it close or get off to a good start.

They may play down a little to their competition, looking at Purdue, Western Michigan and Rutgers games.

fwiw

I always have hope. If you don't have hope, you don't got squat.

I expect we'll come out really tight since we're gonna be on TV against a ranked team. A few bad breaks and the wheels will come off the wagon early. Sparty 52 - 14

I actually think we match up better than people think and this is the one time that Riley's game plan works in our favor. The real problem will be our secondary.

45-36 bad guys.

I can appreciate your optimism, but I may never believe in Riley's game plan again after the Purdue disaster.

We finally get to play to a team's weakness, pass defense. Michigan State can be beat. Fife actually came out and lead us to our first TD against them last year. Upsets happen, maybe we get this one.

Didn't MSU have a bye week? I like your optimism but...

Probably, they usually do before us. I don't think we'll win but I never give up hope. I've rooted for this team since 1968, don't see why I should stop now.

Like a few others said MSU hasn't been dominant all season and our pass defense has been very leaky. With that in mind I just want a victory and more production in the run game. (Although a small part of me that would like some reciprocity from the back to back beat downs in 95-96).

I hope Nebraska wins the game too but Michigan State needs a convincing victory to help them get in the playoffs and this has blowout written all over it.

This will be an easy game for MSU

Why? All they have to do is keep winning. If they beat highly ranked Ohio State and possibly an unbeaten and highly ranked Hawkeye team in the BIG championship they will easily make the playoff. If they lose any of those it doesn't matter.

I was trying to use reverse psychology with my MSU prediction and it worked!!
