I can confirm through a source that Nebraska made contact with the club soccer coach at NU, and three different guys on the soccer squad came in for a tryout this week. They've asked one of them to come back from the tryout and he's got another workout today.
That kicker is Trevor Yanovich, a former Omaha Gross kicker and two-time All-State soccer player. His father Rick Yanovich told HuskerOnline his son has been with the team the last few days and taking the necessary steps to officially join the roster.
Sounds like NU is exhausting all of their options at this point as there are several unknowns with this situation at kicker. This will be something to ask Coach Frost about more on Thursday.
My guess is anything inside the 20-yard line Isaac Armstrong can handle, but if they can find somebody that can hit from the 20 to 30-yard line with more consistency that's where a different option might come into play.
