Some Kickoff times are set

I’m so excited for this year to start. We all have to remember to temper our excitement down a bit with hoping for a ton of wins (it really could happen, we have the skill player talent there but it’s more on our QB and if Gebbia/Martinez/Bunch can get and keep the offense rolling). But to get the Frost era officially going, season wise is very exciting. This year on, things will change and for the best.

Couldn't be happier with the Northwestern and Iowa start times. Very Good news.

I feel like 11 AM kickoffs favor the road team. Atleast that seems to be how Iowa plays.
I agree. I always feel like the 11:00 starts in Lincoln make the home crowd more subdued. I imagine it is the same most places. Should be a good game. At least I hope it is. Hasn't been competitive for two years. Hoping Frosty changes that.

Gary Barta loves him some 11am kickoffs.

I wonder if Fox has another game at 3:00 pm after the Husker/ Hawk game? It hasn’t been announced yet.
Oregon at Oregon. St or Washington at Washington St.
Would be other options.
It is odd that they didn’t put this game on in the late afternoon.

I guess our programs have to earn a later start. Not much going on east or west of the Missouri River the past few seasons.

Oh boy, that is the very truth. I'm dying a horrible death waiting..........

I don’t think this has anything to do with it on Black Friday, there are so many games played on this date and networks may have College Basketball games at night and Fox does carry PAC 12 games.

The past two seasons haven’t registered nationally at all. I would think that if those games had meant more, viewership would have been up. Thus, making it more attractive to have later in the day in the future. My opinion comes without lookin at any ratings stats whatsoever.

The west coast teams getting the later start times could play a factor as well, like you stated.

I love that Fox has thrown their hat in the ring. BIG, Big 12, and PAC are run to watch.

Sept 8th is freaking stacked for them.

UCLA vs OU
Iowa St vs Iowa
Stanford vs USC

LOADED day.

Remember when TBS had a toe in the water with college football?

Man that seems like a life time ago. I loved their production of college football.

Ironically, the 11 am start the next day is for Ohio State vs. Michigan.

The biggest rivalry game in B1G is traditionally an early start, as well.

Well, people are now trying to piggy back off the black Friday success. That game used to be able to call its shot on the time slot. Now, there are half a dozen games. That being said, it would be nice for the traveling fans if they just set it at 2:30pm or later.

Same with red river shootout. 11am usually.
Probably has more to do with state fair etc.

Big Ten and Big 12 top rivalries are 11 am stars annually. Many schools choose 11 am for Homecoming games.

It should be an interesting 2018!

If it wasn’t for Michigan and Ohio St always ending the season against one another and if they played this game any other time during the season it would be a prime time night game or late afternoon game for TV.
