Considering Trev actually spearheaded UNO baseball getting their own facility for the first time in program history, this attempt at a crack is a swing and a miss on every level. Try again. Try harder.JFC...maybe they’ll class it up every once in awhile and play at Roddy.
Guess you missed the first few years of UNO playing “D1” baseball.Considering Trev actually spearheaded UNO baseball getting their own facility for the first time in program history, this attempt at a crack is a swing and a miss on every level. Try again. Try harder.
Rome wasn't built in a day. Guess you missed the part of UNO likely raising more capital for facilities than any non Power 5 D-1 school in the last 10 years.Guess you missed the first few years of UNO playing “D1” baseball.
Most didn't need to, they already had them.Rome wasn't built in a day. Guess you missed the part of UNO likely raising more capital for facilities than any non Power 5 D-1 school in the last 10 years.
Name another mid major that has built a basketball/hockey/volleyball arena, men's/women's soccer facility, and baseball/softball complex while adding men's swimming/diving in the span of a decade.

That's a nice story, bro. Quite irrelevant, but nice. Most didn't need to, they already had them.
Very relevant. If I don't have something, I need to build it or rent it from someone else who does have it.That's a nice story, bro. Quite irrelevant, but nice.
No doubt. The OP though was trying to somehow say that it was Trev's fault that UNO didn't already have these things and they should have just appeared out of thin air. Most schools would already have their own baseball field when they move to D1, but the reality was UNO didn't. There were myriad reasons why. Every coach that led the program in the last 30 years had been promised a dedicated baseball facility...but, inept athletic directors and a community that simply didn't value UNO athletics, outside of hockey, saw to it that the baseball team schlepped from one high school field to another. Trev came in and got one built with a partnership with key donors. Did it happen as fast as I wanted? Hell no. In a perfect world, it would have happened a year or two after going D-1, but that wasn't the reality of UNO athletics at that point. I saw a rendering of a UNO ballpark not long after UNO bought Chilli Greens in roughly 2006 or 2007. They were supposed to break ground on it within a year or two...but the financing was never there. Danenhauer, Herbster, Miller, etc. They all failed that program. Trev got it done, but it took a while. Rome wasn't built in a day.Very relevant. If a school plays it's basketball games at a 3500 capacity Sapp Fieldhouse, they are going to need to get a bigger arena to compete at division 1 basketball. If a school decides to drop football and wrestling and start a hockey program, they either need to rent a facility at huge expense or build their own.
If you are moving from DII to DI, and you don't have adequate facilities, then there is a need to build them.
Heck, Rutgers still doesn't have lights. Many "have" a baseball stadium. It's a shanty with chain link fences and metal bleachers.
Reminds me of a line from the 80's movie 16 CandlesNo doubt. And, many programs already had facilities, but I'd challenge you to look at the facilities at the low to mid major D1 level and find many that now have the facilities UNO has. So many "have" a basketball facility. It's a gym that makes Sapp Fieldhouse look modern by comparison. Many "have" a baseball stadium. It's a shanty with chain link fences and metal bleachers.
UNO is on another level when it comes to facilities compared to mid major competitors and I don't think everyone in this state realizes it.
I don't think Michigan State does either.Heck, Rutgers still doesn't have lights.
They were gifted a whopping $1.4M in 2019 to finally install some lights 😂I don't think Michigan State does either.
id pull my car up with the brights on for that. They were gifted a whopping $1.4M in 2019 to finally install some lights 😂
My god. Spambots not even trying to act normal.Time flies, doesn't it? I remember hearing about the potential move of Husker baseball games a couple of years ago. Did they end up settling in Boystown? Different venues can bring fresh vibes, and who knows, maybe Roddy will be in the mix for special occasions!
That's really quite amazing if that's really true. Think about all of the small towns that have lights on their baseball fields.Heck, Rutgers still doesn't have lights.
