Huskers gonna be damn good this year. I can feel it. We are under the radar and are going to surprise some people.
Bring on the season!

Probably. But the only thing that could dampen my enthusiasm for this year would be a rash of critical injuries. Barring that, I see a great season ahead.Unfortunately, it is only a matter of time before someone comes along and tells you why you are wrong. :-(

Hard to debate the under the radar comment. Not sure what qualifies as a damn good year anymore, though.Huskers gonna be damn good this year. I can feel it. We are under the radar and are going to surprise some people.

Same, OP. I think we win the West this year. All of our tough division games are at home and I think Wisky will be meh; I'm not convinced Chyrst is a good coach or recruiter. He fell into some great talent and had some things go his way (NO PI call vs us). The West is for the taking and I hope the players see that and are hungry for it. GBR.
A damn good year is we win the West and are very, very competitive against teams like Ohio State and PSU. There are no blowout losses, we go to a New Year's Day bowl, and our recruiting ends strong.Hard to debate the under the radar comment. Not sure what qualifies as a damn good year anymore, though.
I expect this. I don't expect that we beat PSU or OSU or win the B1G yet, but have a chance and not get shit pounded.A damn good year is we win the West and are very, very competitive against teams like Ohio State and PSU. It could happen.
I'm worried about PSU and OSU for sure, but Wiscy and Iowa have never been 'easy wins' since we've gotten to the B1G.The only team with clear talent edge is Ohio State, everyone else we should expect to beat, right now I'd say psu is a toss up and Wiscy and iowa won't be easy wins.
I think we have the least depth at DL.
Who cares. This board, like most, has an infestation of people with crappy lives that live to crap on the aspirations of others. They'll put down any good feeling someone else has about the team.Unfortunately, it is only a matter of time before someone comes along and tells you why you are wrong. :-(

(One side note about PSU...they were charmed last year. Now I get that you create your own luck / mojo, but they had some offensive streaks last year on broken plays that will be tough to accomplish again. Even though they beat OSU, I dont think they are on OSUs level yet, they arent world beaters. Im not saying they arent good, just not world beaters theyre being hyped to be.)
So people who are skeptical about the likely wins and losses of the football team this year probably are miserable people with miserable lives? Nice stereotyping.Who cares. Just ignore the noise, and get ready, because it's almost football time!
A good year for me would mean signs of progress in all aspects of the team especially the O line... Also the recruiting to end strong as well. A 9 win season with all of the above would be acceptable but ten wins would really send a message we are returning.
Yes, PSU had a few good breaks last year. If they don't block that FG against OSU then they would not have won the B1G. They also lost to Pitt and got buttwiped by Michigan. So they are beatable.I expect this. I don't expect that we beat PSU or OSU or win the B1G yet, but have a chance and not get shit pounded.

PSU is a fraud. They got crazy breaks in that OSU game and only had 270 yards of total offense. They then got trounced by Michigan. Pitt was merely average and showed us what PSU is really like.I expect this. I don't expect that we beat PSU or OSU or win the B1G yet, but have a chance and not get shit pounded.

My thoughts are the same PSU is not some great team they are middle of the pack and certainly beatable. They do have some talent especially on offense but their defense was very suspect last yearPSU is a fraud. They got crazy breaks in that OSU game and only had 270 yards of total offense. I hope so we are overdue for a magical season. My head however sees a new starting QB, new DC and an Oline that has yet to show they can play well an entire year.Huskers gonna be damn good this year. I can feel it. We are under the radar and are going to surprise some people.

You may be right but QB is especially tough to come right in at a high level. I am hopeful on Defense as I do believe we upgradedI see a better QB, a better DC, and a more athletic offensive line.
I missed the question in this...Honest question here. When doing comparisons for a new year/team, most, if not all areas of our team are going to be better this year but everyone else was lucky to stay in games or win the ones they did win. They are on their boards and saying that Nebraska won't be any better this year than last and was lucky to win the games they won last year. hmm

And I dont think anyone is saying Penn State isnt good. The run was charmed, however. They are not world beaters is all. Not on the level of OSU.Honest question here. At this point, just going into the season, I do not expect to beat them...on paper anyway.Yes, PSU had a few good breaks last year. If they don't block that FG against OSU then they would not have won the B1G. They also lost to Pitt and got buttwiped by Michigan. So they are beatable.
That said... the fact is they played solid enough defense against OSU to be in a position to win. And they finished by beating a solid Wisky team. Franklin has recruited at an elite talent level. They have some serious athletes on that team. And Beaver Stadium is a very intimidating venue.
Can we beat them? I mean realistically and not just in the "on any given Saturday" sense? Yes. But we will have to play on a very high level to do so.
