Small baseball bat vs a gun?

I spent 36 years in Education and I just shake my head when I read idiotic comments like this since it makes Educators look like idiots. A school district in Pennsylvania has given a small baseball bat to each of their teachers and employees in case there is a gun related incident. The Supt. said they weren't going to be "just sitting ducks" or "trying to hide". I am guessing you throw the bat at the shooter and start running.
