Despite losing to a team that is truly awful, our loss puts us in a worse bowl against, hopefully, a worse team … hopefully, and therefore a lesser chance of losing, making us all feel super duper in the off-season.

The silver lining for me is hoping this game shows Rhule that all is not well. He has 3-4 assistants that absolutely must be fired
A bowl game is a nice silver lining. But a game like this sucks. If you are going to lose, lose to a team that is actually good.
Now Iowa will go play a good team with guys that actually catch the ball.
And Iowa will get smoked.
Yeah we were feeling good after picking up Holgerson and smoking Wisconsin. If we cruised through Iowa, It could have masked the fact that some position coaches need to be upgraded this off season.
The silver lining was that I bet Iowa money line at +450 right after the 'fumbled' punt. More than covered the pregame NU money line bet I made.
I hate losing to Iowa and it's not a moral victory by any stretch, but we dominated most of the game. It's a good sign for the future. And if we win a bowl game and finish 7-6 heading into the off-season, it'll take a lot of the bitterness of this loss away. For me anyway.

It would be good if we got boat race in a bowl game. I don’t want the coaches or players injecting hopium directly into their veins. Oh, we’re so close! Ef that. We are in the bottom 1/3 of the conference.
To be honest, losing to UCLA was a good thing. We'd still have Satterfield as OC. I feel this team is better now that it was but still lacks a lot. Having the bowl game and extra practices helps. We need some big time playmakers and Raiola needs to work on his pocket presence.
I think I'm numb to all of this sh*t at this point. I'm just gonna take the high road and repress all of the negative crap at this point-- and I've become quite good at it over the years. I just block out some of this stuff and try not to let it affect my mood.
One thing I'll say, we had some individuals out there who really played their ass off. Robinson, Nash; Von Poppel really showed some promise for the future. The offense moved the ball. I think the OL will be better next year if Dana stays on. Dylan will be much improved too.
I'd rather lose big to a better team any day. These games just infuriate you. How bad did anyone feel losing to Miami in the Rose Bowl. Within five minutes it was clear they were substantially better and that was that. Losing to an Iowa team that just plays tortoise ball is all the more annoying.
My bright side is that this board will have plenty of action til next fall…..

The back breaker was when I think Bullock got knocked off Johnson’s back on that long play by our own guy. He had him. 😕 Nash and Robinson played their asses off Bullock was good. One big play. Damnit.
Believe me, the players are well aware of the conference standings. This program needs some positive energy, a couple stud recruits & transfers, and more confidence. Getting blown out in a bowl game helps with none of that.
Silver Lining is we got Bowl Eligible. No way were we going to do it against Iowa. At least those F**ks weren’t responsible for us not getting to a Bowl this year!

I still believe the zebras got the punt ruling wrong but all things considered that cost us 3 points. It was and understandable mistake by our guy who finally touched it but I still think Iowa touched it first. Low snap cost us 3. The BIG play was the long run then of course Dylan’s second fumble of the night. Never mind the multiple open receivers he didn’t see or hit.
